It's time for a fixed 2-2-2 role queue

Imagine actually using the LFG system. I don’t know why people are still complaining about the lack of a role queue system when LFG was implemented to be just that for people who wanted it.

I personally think that LFG is the right tool for a heavily team based game like this but most people want casual gaming experience without grouping up. With role queue they’ll have the one-click casual experience without grouping up but it has less potential to provide consistent quality due to random team mates like in the current solo queue.

I think role queue will be a little bit of improvement but it still won’t eliminate a lot of problems that many players don’t like (one-tricks, people who learn new heros and/or throw, rock-paper-scissors, etc…). A heavily team based game works best with hand-picked teams (the way progamers play it) or players who are willing to cooperate. The best improvement for competitive would be removing those who don’t play it as intended (for example by attracting them with other game modes).

no, let me play whatever I want to play, don’t force me to play one role or anything. Use lfg or six stack another way if you don’t like the freedom of getting to choose what you play.

The current solo queue competitive assumes filling and adapting to situations. For this reason you’ll have constant conflict with other players. BTW, what do you think about this: Idea: new "one-trick" 6v6 game mode to solve a lot of problems (killing many birds with one stone)

LFG in which you get matched with other stacks, not solo queue.

Well, in that case the team building skills of the two group leaders might be deciding factor. I think that is reasonable in a heavily team based game. Even if you lose a match like that, the average quality of your games can be considerably better.

Player freedom is a good and a bad thing.

A lot of freedom involves a lot of complexity and the average person will not like that. Overwatch with its team based game, hero pool, and in-game switch is an extremly complex game. I personally like this (because of the creativity) but a lot of players don’t and this complexity is partly the reason for the bad matchmaking and bad average quality of random teams.

I think introducing a game mode for players who prefer simpler games with less choices (OTPs, classic FPS players, etc…) could attract a lot of players from competitive and make it better at the same time.

An alternative 222 mode might bring me back into the game. Played a few games tonight to try the new character and ended up just wanting to uninstall more than ever.
