Recently in my Competitive matches more and more people just give up halfway through. This occurred occasionally before, but today it has happened me every match so far.
They either just sit in spawn or run around near spawn doing nothing useful or run straight into the entire enemy team all by themselves.
It seems like more players are starting to give up on Overwatch, and I don’t really blame them. The balance updates have been really bad lately, obviously only for OWL and the very top players. The lack of communication from developers even though there are countless threads regarding Genji and other Heroes.
There will always be negative players out there but there are still plenty of us who enjoy this game. Had some of the better comp experiences of my career this week. Actually had all six random people in voice chat for once and we talked and laughed throughout the match, which we won.
Good rapport leads to better play. I recommend being in voice chat and showing that you’re engaged in the game from the start. It might rub off on the rest of your team.
two grouped supports 100% flanking and refusing to heal anyone. We all begged for heals. “If you want heals go hog or mei, (b word)” was their response
A Lucio wallriding around whole level, I don’t think he shot his gun once
There are just a lot of kids playing right now and they really don’t care anything about the game at all - you just have to kind of get used to Toddlerwatch or group with your own friends.
More smurfs equals less people actually caring. There is no reason to care about your SR on an alt account. It’s whatever. I’ve had tons of matches where either the smurf on my team or enemy’s says ‘‘yeah I don’t wanna try anymore lol good luck’’ and starts throwing. Fickle moods and the desire for easy ego boost leads to this. Smurfs are like young teenagers, if they don’t get attention easily and get everything they want easily, they will throw a tantrum.
There’s tons of smurfs, do the math. They ruin the game but nothing will change about it.
This is a major issue since how the pro scene goes dictates how much investors are willing to give. So goodluck with the devs salvaging this dumpster fire before OW2 releases and they have to give people a reason to care.
I other hand enjoy watching this fall apart because it’s been so obvious from when they refused to take immediate action on busted aspects of the game that this would eventually happen and man this is going down faster than anything I can compare this too.
It’s not true competition thanks to all of the problems. It’s a tilt one way or the other, you’re likely to get grouped with throwers or have a leaver on your team, meanwhile you will have smurfs on the other team. It’s almost pointless to think you will have a fair shake when you hit the start button for a game.
