Symmetra is lower in priority as they are focusing on making the support class more enjoyable for the new PvP. And here you all are, once again, giving Symmetra players a bad name. You all sound like the Karens in the ER complaining the staff is too slow to treat your sprained wrist while the Doctors prioritize the patients who are bleeding out.
I get the cynicism because of how ignored she’s been. The fact that they acknowledged that she’s not the immediate focus (I imagine supports are) makes me feel like they are actually thinking of what to do with her, and that she just isn’t the primary focus right now.
Which I get is still cruddy, you’d think they would give attention to an underperforming hero first. I find some reassurance that they actually verbally acknowledged it.
I think the skepticism is valid given how long she’s been ignored. They have to work to earn Symm players’ trust. I hope this is the first step of many to work towards that.
“Future adjustments” can mean everything.
They’re just saying they haven’t done anything about her yet.
For Junkrat they mentioned changes like increasing the projectile speed and making him more skillful. But for Sym they didn’t said anything. They just said her survivability is bad (aka Mei is Sym but in better) and her beam is also bad.
So I don know why people claim a rework is debunked by this statement.
They’re literally saying nothing in this whole post.
Translation “we hear all you junkrats and syms whining and realize yiu won’t stop until we do something. We don’t really want to but will try to figure out a change that won’t really do anything but seem like we tried.”
But, you are right in that Sym is being acknowledged, and looked at for buffs. That’s great! But if it just brings her back in line with her OW1 strength, it’ll be bitter-sweet.
The way I see it, upper management gave Overwatch crappy budgets, scared off good talent with bad pay, mistreatment, and frustrating micro-managing. As well as having them work on dumb side projects that never got launched.
But yeah, it’s outrage inducing, but I wouldn’t blame the Overwatch team for all the nonsense they’ve had to put up with. Including having entire subteams quit in protest, need to get replacements rehired and retrained from scratch.
But they are behaving better now, and any day now the Microsoft/Blizzard merger might get approved by the federal government. And then Kotick and friends are out the door.
