So this is getting tiring and I know that this will be immediately flagged as “trolling” even though it isn’t, because this is actually indicative of a greater problem that exists in this game, which is that it is seriously -bleep-ed. I mean really. We have ten posts a day about people leaving, ten posts a day about smurfs, ten posts a day about losing streaks, and yet none of this exists, and the problem is always with the players.
Lets address these problems and quit insinuating that people are making these things up as excuses. The fact is, if more people are experiencing them than those who aren’t that means there is a statistical probability that these issues are occurring. If they are occurring, they need to be fixed.
I will be fine being at bronze and silver, if at the end of the day I know for sure I’m hard stuck there because that’s the level of my game play and not because the game is totally bleep-ed.
(Now I’m waiting for the self-righteous few to come and explain how I deserve to be where I’m at and everything is fine in the kingdom.)
People will call anyone troll that they disagree with/generally dislike. Because, no way that you can think that much different from them and be actually right.
Why do most of people think that bronze and silver is some what equal to “easy” and “normal” difficulties in RPG game (for example)?
You can have a difficult match in bronze while you play at level of platinum. You cannot really expect that everyone at bronze is “on that level”.
I respectfully disagree, as smurfs and leavers are very abundant now. Specialy smurfs, back when jeff said they were not a problem that was when they were just geting started. But now that the game went on sale so many times and for super cheap ($15 is about the cost of a monthly subscription to some things) they have grown more and more same with leavers cuz they dont care, they can just buy another copy of the game if their 10 copys all get baned…
And you may have had different experiences than I have, which is valid in and of itself.
But there also is a distinct difference between smurfs and alts. Smurfs intentionally play at a lower elo than they belong. They throw and sabotage gameplay to give themselves an advantage. Alts typically have other reasons, between feeling they’re ranked lower than they should be because of MMR, wanting a less stress environment to practice a hero they have no skill with, or a streamer having an account they don’t feel like they have to “tryhard” on.
please link to any post where anyone claims that any of these don’t exist. if you manage to find one (i won’t hold my breath) they’d be demonstrably wrong.
good news, then - you’re the only thing keeping you where you are. factors outside of your control aren’t keeping you down so if you want to climb, improve yourself.
Every since the change to role q it has become more evident to me the game isn’t as skill oriented as I once thought. When I still see rein orisa. It makes it feel like a non fps and makes the game unplayable for me. Unfortunately. I don’t enjoy play Mei or doom so I just don’t playthe game.i don’t consider dps a skill position anymore.
Nope you are correct. But of course those who get good games, play in a full group or mini one, has good team rng, etc. will say we are all lying. People seem to not understand that a lot of us solo queue and relying 100% on your 5 other teammates to at least try and play to win decreases your odds of winning by a lot. Then these people will say, “Well, the other team is in the same situation as you.” Problem is, they aren’t. Since they removed us being able to tell who is grouped and not, for all we know the other team can be a 6 stack vs all of us solos.
But let me also add I have lost over 750 SR in just leavers and have gained, what, 12 SR as during all my leavers the other team only had 2.
Then I get a lot of tanks who do the 2 dive tanks or a dive and Roadhog. Especially on maps with a small choke where shield tanks thrive on. I seem to attract the non shield tanks and get rolled all the time on those maps especially.
Then along with those 2 dive tank teams I get healers who prefer to dps along with Lucio’s who prefer to keeep on speedboost and just run around the points.
When I play Pharah, I seem to always have to be on the payload (when I should be flanking etc.) since our tanks seem to like to rush in and ignore being on the payload and then the healers are all over the place trying to dps.
I can give many other examples but there are still those so blinded that many of us run into these issues the majority of our matches will just say their same ole speech.
I still like how I was plat for quite awhile until role queue. You magically don’t drop 1000-1200 SR in 1 season and can’t climb back up due to all of the reasons stated among more.
I am just trying now to accept the fact every match will be a loss now and start playing heroes I don’t normally play since the people I get teamed with don’t seem to care then I should stop also.
Yes that is very true, i would say though after playing as i have (i have plat boarder) i have played with anything from bronze players to GMs and i might not be perfect at it but i lole many others can see when someone is in a rank they are not supose to be in. But yes alts are ruing the game too…but in a diffrent way sadly.
The problem is, even though much of them may be experiencing what they say they are… a lot of the time it’s honestly embellished or blown out of proportion and to boot a lot of people perceive what is happening to them differently. Some people are misinformed as well… and beyond that the forums are a small portion of the size of the actual community in OW.
It’s very hard to validate not only who is telling the truth but who is reporting what is actually happening. Time and time again the community does seem a little out to lunch and most don’t provide any kind of evidence at all.
It’s sadly not as black and white of an issue as we all would like the discussion to be.
A plat player in bronze might have a few hard games, but would climb out with ease.
What’s difficult for bronze and silver players is, most of the time, easy for a plat player, and since the plat is a better player, climbing would be no issue.
Good team rng? Really?
So if you put a GM player in gold, would they be unable to solo queue out unless they had good team RNG?
Jeez you’re blaming things other than yourself A LOT. I’ve got a question for you, how’s your gameplay? What’s your rank, and what rank do you think you deserve.
Nope. Even if they climbed with a 60% win rate, it would take 200 matches, which is above average what most people play in an entire season. Add in the queue times and you have yourself unrealistic mobility and ranking chances.
The entire time playing like a plat in sub-plat rank, btw.
I mean, that doesn’t necessarrily mean they aren’t gonna climb?.. It’s just… gonna take a while?
I dunno, I know this is gonna make me ‘that guy’ but I placed low gold/silver at one point and now I’m almost Diamond. My winrate was between 60% and 70%. Hovers around 60% now. I can do it and I’m basically almost an old man and solo que almost exclusively. The problem is… there’s just as much living proof it can be done as there are people saying it’s not gonna work that way… So what gives?
60%+ was a generous number, but since ya wanna dive deeper into the numbers of it, a plat would probably sit at 70% win rate in bronze. Assuming SR gains are +30 and -20 (due to PBSR), it would take the plat 17 wins to gain 500 SR, and 25 games to lose 500 SR.
So, if the plat player goes 40-15 ( even numbers, a reasonable, 72% winrate), they’ll be in plat no problem.
The thing is, the “living proof’s” evidence is backed by a majority of player’s experience, and follows logic, while the other side makes things up like “forced loss streaks” and “rigged matchmaking gives me bad tanks!”, as an excuse for why they’re low rank. People will misinterpret a bad game (which is bound to happen in any video game matchmaker) and cry about the 10 “reasons” as to why they lost, and not mention their own gameplay at all.
