It's not dive meta, it's dive HORROR

Who told the devs, buffing Tracer, Sombra, Winston and Kiriko in the same patch would guarantee a fun gameplay experience?

Tracer’s damage was nerfed for good reason, and buffing the entire dive cast is an evenmore horrifying thing to do.

Just no!

Hey, she is getting new skins so must ensure she is relevant

It would be unthinkable if she were to be out of S+ tier for even just 3 weeks :scream:

Yeah, and it made the game horrible.

You know, they only keep Dive as strong as it is to keep Supports in check. It’s all power creep, and the only way to fix it would be to nerf Supports. Something that most Support players would hate even more than a Dive meta.

No what made the game horrible is stacking anti tank heroes.

Anti Tank heroes that are now being kept in check by Dive? Curious. Very curious.

You know, Tracer is a Bastion counter. She’s an Ana counter too.

Cass has much faster TTK than Sombra with Hack and Virus. Why don’t people call him OP for ‘melting’?

Ana is still very much meta. She works with every style of comp.

Ana is meta, but also not affecting Tanks nearly as much now that she has to use nade on herself more. Sleep is also reserved for flankers into Dive.

Except they use Brig to keep her up.

If they use Brig, well, Winston was JUST buffed to deal with her, and she was JUST nerfed. Still not a problem.

They keep nerfing Brig, it keeps not doing anything.

They didn’t buff dive, they nerfed Ana you silly goose

it’s been like, 4 months?

The matchup was always on the brig to whipshot the winston when he engages. 70 damage is more than enough to force recall and 10 damage means nothing to winston so the boop is enough. Brig is just slightly less good. It’s not a big difference. Also it doesn’t matter since brig is also one of the best heroes at enabling dive and she still is. Zen harmony is good but Zen against sombra tracer does not really exist

i dont think people realize how bad tracers gameplay has been since the death of Ow1.

Yeah, imagine if he could only go invis with a baby safety circle and tp around the map xD

I’ve hilariously not seen much of any dive in a QP environment. Usually, whatever is meta rolls over into QP and I hardly ever see dive being played there.

Dive comp is not easy to do in QP with no comm and you also need enough dive specialists in the team to make it work.

Though i just had a game where the enemy Widow opened with 3 kills back to back. Subsequently we all dove her non stop without even talking.

Agreed. And nobody’s talkin’ about Junkrat’s instakill combo. It takes a Tracer a full second to one-clip a target - but tons of heroes can kill a squishy faster than Tracer can empty a clip.

I’ve never needed to communicate with dive. It is all general player awareness and you have a TON of variations on dive you can play with. A brig/LW combo works well with dive tank/dps. There is Zen/Ana you can run if you aren’t being counter dove.

You can field long range hitscan in support of diving teams. You can run echo/pharah + mercy combination. Even odd ball stuff like lucio + kiriko can be very dive aggressive.

Even the very 1v1 nature of dive characters is even beneficial to lack of communication because it can chaos natural chaos that the enemy team will struggle to capitalize upon. Dive has rapid mobility so even a mistake can be quickly corrected. Unlike trying to have players stay in a close knit for mation on poke or rush. It takes one person to screw up and get isolated with no mobility to escape.

It is hard to isolate a dive character because of their mobility or inherent desire to play at range. The strongest thing you can do is make the enemy team have to make a decision over what to attack.
