im ashamed of playing this game for almost 10 years now… but its a shell of what it used to be its actually really sad seeing what the game and blizzard as a whole have become. the game lost its soul its been ripped out entirely just to “remaster” it into a quick cash grab.

well i did as well and world of warcraft for longer 2006-2020 so yea… i guess im ashamed as well

Cash grab? Lmao it’s free to play. I’m all for criticism of OW2 for taking so much of what OW1 had, promising so much more, etc… but you’re literally saying it’s a cash grab when it’s now cheaper than literally ever to just play the game.

A bigger hot take is that the core gameplay is still very solid despite what others claim. Be it 5 v 5 or 6 v 6. Balance is a mess for sure, but the core is still very much there.

Yea but that just doesn’t seem sustainable from the company’s perspective. I never bought a loot box and had every skin ever released when OW ended. They need recurring revenue. Buying skins just doesn’t attract me so I haven’t bought any

think about that for a min. what is the true root cause. a topic no1 is brave enough to discuss (or it just gets censored).
I think the pure gameplay is still Grade A material. it’s not as good as Old overwatch, but going from an S tier to an A tier game quality is still really really good.
The Problem is Quite litterally everything else.
they Made Overwatch into a Live Service game but all they’ve been serving us are things to buy. it seems that Overwatch now just exists as an excuse to sell cosmetics. every new collab, event and character are just an excuse to sell more stuff. you could argue that every game is like that, but they make up for it by innovating and adding real meaningful content alongside them.
I think the best example of this Mindset is the Bew Maximillion Vault and the Anmated video with that K-pop group.
Blizzard deicded to use the incredible talent of their animator, not to kake great stories or cutscenes or animated shorts to expand the game. but instead just to make an ad to sell more things.
they added maximillion into the game. just so they can sell us more skins. every collab is just skins and some lazy gamemode that you might have fun doing once.
and that’s all overwatch is now

indeed. and if there is nothing left of OW, then why are we paying for SoCal salaries when the servers aren’t even up? they are putting their cronies before their customers and it shows. no wonder this studio is cooked. same staffing that directed us through the steam reviews and years of ow2 griefing.

There are better games to play in the same genre and even more better games in different genre’s.
