I admit it. I joined road to bronze groups when lfg first came out. But what I found out is that every game I won I would get 80 to 100sr per win until i get to the rank i have been in since season 3; Gold.
Whenever i want to have fun down in bronze I cant because winning literally makes me lose. Any suggestions?
Yes, play characters you know are weak and don’t do well unless there is a lot of teamwork. Also try to avoid high dps potential characters like widowmaker. That should help
From what I can tell, Bronze is the rank for people that literally have all of the following problems:
No sense of how to play their hero
No sense of when to play certain heroes and especially when not to
No sense of who their hero counters and who counters them
No situational awareness
No ability to work as a team
No mechanical skill
No ability to improvise
No ability to make a plan and stick with it, or to adapt it when it doesn’t work
No knowledge of maps
No knowledge of how gametypes work
No ability to calculate potential enemy plays, plans, ult charge, etc
Absolutely terrible positioning
Possibly horrible rig (for PC) and/or internet speed
I placed in the season 2 equivalent of low plat when I started playing, right at level 25, as a Hanzo main. I have never been lower than that, and I was master within 4 season and have been master ever since. I can’t even conceive how badly I would have to play to end up in bronze.
My group of friends that played overwatch in customs for a while used to have a low silver player in it, and even with me and my similarly master-class brother on his team in a 3v3, the team with him on it would basically always lose.
i guess its the MMR‘s fault. if your SR is going down your MMR is going down too, but very slowly. you literally have to throw countless times to bring that „bastard“ down ^^!
So what you are telling me is at the very beginning I should play my hero of choice but before the game ends play sym or torn to soft throw so I dont win the game?
I don’t know if switching is the best idea. I mean, what you’re trying to do is drop rank by not throwing, soft throwing or hard. So you’re going to want a hero that’s just plain not good and try your best.
If you take symmetra or torb, you’re not necessarily going to drop to bronze, with your auto aim turrets and some truly incapable people. They’re not necessarily going to be able to take them out, not if you’re trying to win. I’d recommend like a Baptiste or Lucio, where you’re doing really not a lot of damage at all, and where teamwork…which is near absent…can’t take advantage of those heroes no matter how hard you try.
Throwing is against the rules, you know? But fortunately, Blizzard has a whole bunch of heroes that are allowed to be used, and which are just not very good in some situations, thanks to good old Blizzard. They gave you a chance to lower your rank within the rules, and without throwing. Aren’t they great?
You are admitting to gameplay sabatoge buddy how about having fun improving so that u don’t feel outclassed by gold players. Seriously just go play Halo on easy mode or something.
Wow, you’re so constructive to anyone in that rank. What gives you the right to be so rude and so wrong? All of the things you just listed are actually impossible for anyone except for those just starting the game to have all of. Hop off of your high horse.
He’s kinda got a point though. It’s INCREDIBLY difficult to play at a bronze level and stay there for more than 2 weeks. Most of the time, i chalk it up to a REALLY bad PC, a mental health issue, or just casually playing. If anyone would like me to coach them out of bronze or whatver rank they’re in, my discord is Nickdarick#7021
I’ve been in silver for, what, 2 years? It’s surprisingly easy to end up there tbh. Especially since I don’t like tanking and I haven’t spent the last 20 years playing fps games. Though to be fair, quick play always has me facing off against high plat to low diamond players. It sucks to be easy pickings for them, and I wish qp was more strict on that front.
I never said players above bronze had all those things. I was listing all of the things that contribute to someone being bronze. As you go higher up the ranks, those items start disappearing off the list.
