I’m high plat, my friends are both in high gold. Whenever we play the matchmaking system goes so bonkers that I’m currently on a 10+ game loss streak.
I’ve checked the profiles which were public. Some people on the enemy teams are Diamond 3 or 2, while members of my team are closer to Silver. What the hell is going on??
I decided to take a quick break and when my friends decided to play a game without me their match quality was instantly way higher. I said to keep it going and now they’re on a 5 game win streak.
Seriously. Am I not allowed to just enjoy this damn game? Every session I get on to play with my pals there’s at least one instance of a thrower on our team, a leaver, or an incredible imbalance in skill that we lose many MANY games. What the f*** am I supposed to do?

Soft throw games until you get to their rank and climb back up together.
Hell no. I’m not going to stoop to the level of the people that ruin games and make the experience for other players miserable just for a selfish reason. What I want is the devs to wake up from their seemingly infinite slumber and stop being tone-deaf so that they can fix this game.

Find friends with your exact skill level and rank. Only play with each other.
I don’t see another solution. This game wasn’t designed for ranking with friends if you’re not all at the same rank.
play qp, wait for them to reach you.
Overwatch is one game that isnt enjoyable with friends in comp if your ranks are apart.
Generally plat gold is not a huge difference to impact your gameplay, but matchmaker is bonkers now and is probably struggling to find lobbies were 3 /5 are in plat gold.
so you are probably getting lopsided games.

It’s a video game. No one cares what your rank is. Don’t let yourself get all worked up about something that has zero impact on your life. Get ahold of yourself.
all my friends stopped playing this game with me for the same reasons, it was not fun for them to get destroyed by way stronger opponents.
My niece recently got into the game, she’s a beginner, i told her that it would be a disaster if we play together because the game will match us against opponents that are far too strong for her…
what the hell is the point of a multiplayer game that you can’t play with your friends? call of duty suffer the exact same problem…
