I know only very few kids, including a teenager, and they all play Apex. Apex is the cool game. OW2 is the stupid game getting meme’d on where even the free content is such a joke they see no interest in playing it.

And yep, people want to be put with people at their skill level, that’s the point of a matchmaker, dunno why devs were surprised.
I didn’t even care about the real vs fake sr thing and still knew it was a dumb idea that was just gonna annoy people.

We understand it perfectly fine.
It’s Blizzard who doesn’t understand that playing matches against players two tiers higher than you just because you’re playing well is NOT good.
Players want to play in their rank. Period.
If Blizzard can’t understand that, then they deserve a dead game.

F2P on its own won’t necessarily save the game. Look at other F2P games that didn’t make it. Game needs to be engaging, needs to have an addictive progression system, needs to have fair and balanced matchmaking, and a transparent ranking system where you can keep track of your progress game by game rather than whenever the hell Blizzard feels like showing you.

at least enough to fill lobbies in reasonable time… but from a perspective of other games… such as apex, the game is a zombie… shuffling along, groaning, giving the appearance of being alive… but not in the ways that count

I Was heal main because I’m nearly blind. In OW1 I could enjoy unranked low bronze, have fun, do ok. Collected skins to be more involved. Piss on blizz for screwing every handicapped soul who adored gentler pace of OW1.
I can’t ‘get gud’ cause physically impossible. Screwed us and belittled collecting. ‘just skins what’s the big deal’ sneers and a ‘pay up or shut up’ demand on what they knew well was a very popular piece of the whole. mask the greed behind ‘look see the free’ BS.

People tried every way possible to ruin the comp experience in OW1 - alts/smurfs, boost and derank groups, and now suddenly they act like their rank has real meaning.

I will cancel this game until the rank system ist fixed and the Lfg tool is back… it’s ridiculous that they deleted it in favor of their damn new mm system … we want to create our own teams not get the quickplay-teams we get now

The thing is, will a “modest amount of players” be that involved in the game that they’ll spend money on it? Especially if it’s a revolving door of noobies who just try the game once or twice and move on without spending money.
And at what point would Blizzard decide to cut its losses and stop supporting a game where only a few play and even fewer actually spend money on it?

No point in playing comp anyway no compensation anymore.
Atleast before you had a cool rank Icon to show off or a neat spray now you just get “Diamond challenger” / Master challenger
Means absolutely nothing I could be Silver (im not) and get TOP500 challenger on CTF Competitive.
