Queue times did increase for the first week or so, at least in qp. I think qp classic having no limitations and the arcade competitive mode filtering competitive players created a dynamic where queues were largely the same for the vast majority of serious players. But in qp, people were definitely piling in to test Echo.
yes it did. I had an 18 minute queue time the first week. this would happen with any other role.
This was a speculation and it could have gone either way, honestly. I never felt like it’d increase queue times but I was also not going to be surprised if it did.
She’s gotten nerfed since then, and she’s still being complained about, especially about her multiple free lives using her ultimate. I’d say you might be wrong on this one.
Wouldn’t go that far, since the counters are currently Ashe, who is looking more and more to be a bit overtuned and too strong herself.
There’s no data or any sort of evidence to support this. Not even a poll.
DPS mains also had a problem with her. As did tank mains. Everyone complained about her. I wouldn’t try to single out any one role. Everyone didn’t like her because her kit was too much. The range nerf on her beam helps a bit.

Yeah, it more or less happened with Sigma. Well, not 18 minutes, but the queue times went up by a few thousand percent because people wanted to play the new hero.

idk about that - her beam is still insane and still too long, and her combo is extremely anti-fun. Having multiple lives is still ridiculous, especially if she clones dva to stall. nothing about her seems balanced to me…

I do agree with you that there was a certain element of the forum that tried to paint her as some middle finger to support mains and would be an end to the game as we know it. Those people are definitely clowns.

Go to extremes much… oh wait… the reality is the jury is still out with her ult usage. If it ticks up which it might take for a couple of seasons to do, expect nerfs. The higher the skill cap and floor the longer it takes for people to generally show what can be done and the cracks to show. It’s just too early right now to know where she will ultimately fall. My take is its like WB; people thought he was trash for like 2 seasons or so then they had enough time to hit his floor and then really start to learn him. I think this is the same skill effect with Echo. Come to think of it, the same thing happened with Baptiste as well IIRC.
yeah I think she’s fine but the only thing I wish would change about her was when you got stickied it would be smaller on your screen. there so much clutter already and her stickies don’t help
but I still wish she was a support 
yeah it wouldve been nice if she was a support but she is a great addition to the DPS roster too

Why though? She’s not even that good, she’s just pretty average.
But then again so was Genji and they buffed him through the eyeballs so obviously present state doesn’t matter. Her beam melts Genji so she’s considered a counter, and she’s good in OWL so I guess she’ll be joining Sombra.
