It's 2024, and we still can't cancel accidental emotes?

Someone is a bit sour today

Because it funny to see a hanzo do the eating emote during the middle of a fight know full well they are in panic mode spaming the keyboard

They could do what Destiny does and in Competitive games your emotes make you swap into first person perspective

They also let you to cancel/spam emotes.

For Honor too. Like the devs literally made a tierlist of how spammable the heroes emotes are.

That’s how I’ve always seen it. You can emote, especially to taunt, but if you die doing it well that’s the price you pay.

never really stopped 3rd person peeking though.

Sadly Jeff’s original post is gone from the forums, but here is Kaedi quoting him:

“accidental emotes” is so wild. lmao How do you feel confident typing that. Im sorry but you need to either rebind it or unbind it. There’s no excuse whatsoever to accidentally emote. Ever. Also, like others have posted, its to disincentivize using it to peak around corners and im SO glad they did that.

M8, I was using the social wheel lmao. The one Blizzard designed. There are plenty of characters that can third person peak as part of their normal kit. If it were as gamebreaking as you’re trying to suggest, then they wouldn’t even have that.

I have to say, I wish you could cancel an emote. Sometimes I accidently press an emote (as well as showboating for fun) during a game, and I sometimes die because of it. Must I be punished for this accidently selection and/or goofing off?! :weary:

That would take dev time man! What are the devs supposed to do? Stop updating the cash shop every five seconds?! Business has to make money! Explain how they’re going to make money by letting you cancel emotes?!

Precisely why, even though people still use emotes to peek around walls for free

Emote is right next to hello, and thanks on the social wheel. The social wheel Blizzard designed.
