So, I keep an Excel spreadsheet of the items counts for OW heroes, because I am just that big a geek. I noticed today while I was updating the items counts that some heroes’ item counts are off, i.e., the total of items on each heroes list doesn’t equal the total number of items shown in the gallery. I’ll list the heroes here, with the difference between item count and gallery total:
Bastion: +1 (95 in gallery total; 94 items total)
Mercy: +4 (101/97)
Torbjorn: +1 (95/94)
Tracer: +2 (101/99)
Widowmaker: +1 (96/95)
Winston: +1 (92/92)
I have no idea what or where the extra items are. Has anyone else noticed this?

can i recommend Overwatch Item Tracker instead?
it would be helpful if you can figure out which items…cause i know for example some sprays for all characters dont get counted…and im not sure how OWL skins get counted

I think it’s because they started counting limited time content (Bastion Blizzcon skin, pink Mercy sprays). So now my completion bar for Mercy will never be full because I didn’t watch eight hours of stream (unless they change it back).

Unless you have them unlocked, the progress cosmetic bar does not include exclusive skins or items like the Charity Mercy items, blizzcon skins, or origin edition items.

There is currently a bug where unobtainable items (e.g Dance party, Noire, Blizzcon skins, etc) count towards the total number of items. I hope it gets fixed, because I want my max items for Lucio and Tracer!

I’ve written about this problem to the bug report forum.
It has to be a bug one way or the other since it counts them in the overall number but not in the individual menus. My Tracer overall count shows I’m missing the two WoW emotes (111/114), but her emote menu is still 7/7.
If this change was intentional, the emote menu should show 7/9; if it was unintentional, the overall count should be 111/112. So something is wrong.

I thought it was intentional at first, too, but then I noticed those inconsistencies.

Shouldn’t the Torb one have 2 missing items, doesn’t he have 2 limited wow voice lines?
Yes. If it isn’t counting those, just more inconsistency. Therefore, more bug evidence.

I didn’t know the GitHub item tracker existed when I started the spreadsheet back in 2016 lol
It’s a little tedious to put in all your info at first ( if there is a way to import that information I have not found it yet)…But once you get past that step it’s fantastic and looks nice
