It was only a matter of time - Sombra

I’m truly grateful it finally happened. It took a long time, but it happened. A year ago, like literally 12 months ago I believe, Sombra was reworked and got permastealth. A month later, personally, I was saying this was 100% going to be reverted. There was absolutley no chance a permastealth hero was going to remain in the game.

The game can be fun again.

Is Widow a problem? Yup. She is. But is a permastealth hero the only way to improve the Widow problem? Nope. That’s just creating a much, much bigger and more annoying problem.

Hopefully, the Widow problem gets handled by dealing with Widow, not Sombra, or any other hero.

Playing against Sombra was a lot like trying to play OW while someone stands next to you IRL and squirts a water gun at your face. Can you deal with it? Yeah, you can. But if you have no way to lock the door in the room and they just keep coming back and squirting your face with a water gun, it eventually makes it not worth playing anymore.

That’s Sombra’s kit in a nutshell for the last year.

I can’t even remember what the game is like without being squirt in a face by that water gun, but I’m sure happy it’s finally gone.

Not personal:
Lowskilled tedtalk. 0/10.

Sombra was trash after a virus nerf. Now she is destroyed.

My ideal version of Sombra would be exactly what’s in the patch notes, but without Opportunist coming back.

We take what we can get, though! I’m optimistic.

That’s… A very strange analogy, but I vaguely get it. I think. Sombra players need to stop squirting (their water gun) at me.

so if I say the game’s gonna die and it dies 10 years later I was right.

Sombra, with the changes presented, is essentially F-- tier. She’s gone from the game. Enjoy getting yanked by every overkitted hero in the game.

I know, I know… you’re bitter and have to resort to the skill issue cop out, that’s predictable, don’t worry. To me, needing to be invisible to play OW sounds a lot like a skill issue, but… I’m sure you’ll be ok. She does need buffs now though, I agree w that.

I agree, very much! It’s a strange analogy, which is exactly how strange to me it felt to play against a hero designed like she was… I mean, I don’t mind Sombra squirting or anything, but well… I’ll just leave it there.

nnnnnot really dude… I mean how many heroes have been “reworked” twice in 13 months? Not quite a common as you are implying.

I do agree, they overnerfed her though. She’ll need buffs. I want her to be good. Just fun to play with and against.

The problem is these changes aren’t going to accomplish the goal of being fun to play against if she gets buffed. They’re only good at the moment because they seem like substantial nerfs overall; if she gets buffed back up then these changes have done nothing to prevent her from being cancer.

So hopefully their intention is truly to just permanently dumpster her.

I know her hack is very annoying, but the combo of her hack and permastealth was what was unbearable to me. If they buff her damage some, adjust her cooldowns a tad, she can be fun to play against for most heroes in the game… Ball, maybe not… but otherwise, fine, imo.

I don’t care about her hack; I care about the fact that an invisible hero pops out of nowhere and one shots you, the latter of which she does even better now which is the major red flag about these changes to me. My hope is that the game overall feels better regardless due to:

  1. The additional downtime / difficulty setting up her playstyle of harassing one target all game
  2. Reduced pick rate if Sombra players thinks she “feels bad” after loss of permastealth

Blocked. It was and is skill issue ONLY.

Never had a problem to kill Sombra. It was always a free win.

Matter is that american thing, whine and demand things because you are not good at this game.

Ok, well, none of that makes much sense to me, but have a good one, dude.

Mystic is saying that when they are on Sombra, they gift the enemy team with a free win.

And also that Americans whine.

Whining about whining

I wouldn’t say nothing, not being able to sit outside spawn doors for free and a guaranteed window where she isn’t invisible is a huge breath of fresh air, especially for support players.

I think the Sombra mains are salty her skill floor was raised above what they’re used too, but we don’t know how strong opportunist +virus will be and I think discouraging the campy play behind the enemy team for cheesy kills on the first person whose vulnerable playstyle and get out for free is a good direction for the character.

Noone should have such a braindead easy time behind enemy lines.

Blocked too. Another forum dweller posting nonsense in every topic, like that neighbours dog which got loose and pooping at every yard.

As long as she’s not writing her name on the ground in Antarctica, it should be ok

Wait, am I not deserving of a block? Come on.

I liked playing Sombra, simply because you can run around completely brain-AFK. That was a nice change from my actual main support role. Trying to attack and teleporting away every 5(?) seconds was just so ridiculous without skill.

Are there seriously people who defend their old mechanics? The classic Sombra was actually OK as it was. Putting the translocator away in a thoughtful way so that you don’t have to run across half the map again after teleporting was good as it was.

I never understood why they tinkered with her anyway, probably just because she was the main of a constantly losing child of a Blizzard board member or something.

I want a block, pls block me too my salty little whiny Sombra baby
