It warms my heart

If double shields wasn’t the problem it was armor and barriers and shields on health bars, even dva the dive tank had a form of shields in her kit.

Over health hasn’t disappeared though. The green HP just replaced it. In Fact most tanks have more HP now than ever before, with the new threw being the excpetion. They also happen to be worse than the original tanks.

Tell me, which heroes are the ones that would need to be locked for 6v6 to be decent?

Only good thing about 5v5 is that as a tank main i no longer have a dumb hog going on his own leaving me 2v1 against the enemy tanks, i actually have climbed further without those kind of guys dragging me down
Tho i really miss diving supports along with my monke duo

If they actually didn’t buff Ram and Orisa just adjust Hogs breather a bit. Game would be in a better place and actually balance Sojourn the right way. Game actually felt good before this current patch. Doesn’t mean 5v5 is bad. Hitscan was always an issue before 5v5.

Nah imo 5v5 is still the far superior game design. Less CC needed just makes the game so much better.

Not fixing 6v6 issues led to players leaving and less tanks high q times for dps, for which they made a quick fix solution of 5v5 but cutting tank required.

The issue though is all the fundamental issues that were there in 6v6 remain and keep rearing its head now.

Except it also has ugly monetization model, a bad ui now.

Seriously the fricking three cc could be reworked in 6v6 as well.

The Orissa shield could have been removed in 6v6 as well

Im sick of seeing this every time, they are not related.

They could have fixed 6v6 with all these changes.

Would have been a much better game.

The only issue was 6v6 wouldn’t have let them slap ow2 title on it a sorry excuse to do their greedy shop update on the game.

The fix for 6 v 6 issue was to nerf tank synergy further.

Which would have driven more tanks players away anyways, thereby not solving the queue times.

5v5 is the jam. OW2’s gameplay has restored my love for the IP. :space_invader:

No removal of cc and Orissa rework and powershifting tanks from synergy to more selfish styles would have not chased tanks off.

Though you wouldn’t have been able to get away with slapping ow2 sticker on it as it’s the same game.

Hence lack of promotion and new players.

The content we had on launch three heroes and maps wasn’t good enough for relaunch.

That said it wouldn’t have chased existing players.

A simple forum search of 5v5 and 6v6 kind of let’s you know there’s a vocal amount of players already voicing their opinions and I haven’t gotten anyone flaming me for voicing the same sentiment.

5v5 is still more fun than 6v6 was later in OW1. They just need to stop making questionable changes like giving Ramattra a speed boost, should have just been damage resistance.

Hyphen and his reputation are fine. Trying to get into cancelling contests because someone has an opinion opposite to one’s own is, in my book, not so much.

Its funny to me, because these changes only appeal to a certain type of DPS player. The kind of utility DPS like torb, mei, sym, bastion etc are doing far worse in this environment than in 6v6.

6v6 only appeals to the solo death match type players

That really depends, since utility still has a place. It is getting the team to coordinate is the hard part, an unsolved problem even from OW1.

But even then, it is still a lot better than dealing with 2 tanks.

…seems fine to me? Game is much more fun & fast-paced now vs ‘barrier simulator’ OW1…?

I have a theory that the second tank forced much more cooperation by simply existing. They were the thin later betweenthe frontline and backline. Without them rotating and providing Peel, it leaves the supports high and dry, which is the primary complaint about the game right now.

I hazard to say the concept of a frontline/backline disappeared with 5v5 as a result.

Games are more chaotic and unstructured, while the fast pace usually means that an early pick just ends the fight.

Without second tanks, DPS go off on their own with no threat, the supports are hunted, and the main tank is forced to play death match. They were the thin glue that provided this game with structure

I think we can agree though that the encentive structure for cooperation is kind of gone, and it wasn’t much to begin with
