It takes a level of self loathing to play dps imo

After playing a ton of support and then going back to dps it’s pretty noticeable the stark contrast between the two roles. Support is just a far more chilled experience. I can play juno/kiri for hours on end and never get tired. After a few games of dps I can feel the sweat dripping from my head and my heart rate skyrocketing. That’s not to say there isn’t a certain charm in this experience. Some people enjoy the stress and high stakes. As for me, I’m getting too old to enjoy that stuff anymore  . And this is while playing “easy” dps like Ashe, Echo or Tracer. I can’t imagine how junkrat or Sym mains can handle it. Well I guess there’s a reason most junkrat players seem insane Lol. I guess I’m grateful for 5v5 and support being a lot of fun because if it was as stressful as dps then I simply could not handle it.

I don’t even want to get into tank. You tank mains are a different breed entirely…

I’m extremely old now, and i’d rather go out from an OW related stress issue than an age related thingy lol.

I’ve already pictured it. Game is in OT, I’m Reaper, my Shadowstep has just come off CD, I have all the symptoms of a huge heart attack in progress, but in my dying breath I drop a Blossom and wipe the enemy team, and my team go on to win in OT. And my headstone will say “GG”.

If I’m Rein I’d like to go out with a drunken charge on the cliffs of 66 and take the enemy team with me on my alcoholically charged ride of fun lol.

Go out in style :sunglasses:

When I used to be a Junk main in OW1 I called myself Lunatic due to my DrunkRat shenanigans lol

I play a lot more support than DPS but most often the reason for queuing DPS is wanting to relax.

Not having to give a damn about your teammates frees up a lot of mental space.

I just got out of a game on Hanzo where I was capable of oneshotting a singular hero. All the while taking 3-5 business days to charge each arrow. We’re up there with our Junk brethren.

I play a lot of support but recently been playing dps and it’s way more fun. They are different modes, and I like to switch between them.

That paints a… morbid picture. Now I’m wondering if anyone in my games has ever died.

I actually had to stop playing Lifeweaver because he was genuinely inducing arthritis. The repetitive clicking and holding to heal was locking up my fingers. Idk lol. That was many seasons ago

We’ll never know, and not something I really dwell on. If I did it would affect my mental. The only deaths I focus on are the ones I cause at the end of Reapers shotguns.

I know people have played through earthquakes and tornadoes-that’s quite a committment to the cause lol. Some dude played through a fire for gods sake lol

I know he has an auto-charge setting where if you tap the button you don’t have to hold it, but where’s the fun in that?

It’s worse on controller too, I’m not just clicking the mouse I’m pushing in the trigger over and over again

I don’t like the toggle charge because you still have to click twice :pensive: Also I swear you used to be able to throw petal as you are charging up a blossom, but they seem to have stealth nerfed that. The toggle charge kind of messed with that too IIRC

I’m not sure if you could charge and throw a petal, but I do know that if you’re trying to reload and throw a petal, it cancels the reload

It’s very painful
