I ran into a problem where I wasn’t getting the SMS verification code from Blizzard on my registered phone number. I reached out to support to get some help with this.
A Game Master got back to me and asked me to set up a time for a live test. They planned to send SMS messages with a code like “GW XXXX” (where XXXX is a number) to see if they would actually come through. I replied with a time that worked for me, but unfortunately, they didn’t respond on that day.
Since I didn’t get a response during the scheduled time, I sent a new ticket, referencing the old one. I let them know that I waited and didn’t receive any updates. I also gave them a new time frame for the test.
Another Game Master got back to me, apologized for the delay, and said they didn’t get to my ticket in time. They told me they would manually send a series of SMS messages containing the code (like GW “XXXX”) after 2:00 PM PST. They asked me to check my phone and get back to them with either the received codes or to let them know if I didn’t get any.
Right now, I’m just waiting for the live test after 2:00 PM PST. I’ll update Blizzard support once I know whether or not the messages come through.
If you’re dealing with a similar issue, just know that coordinating with Blizzard support might take a few tries. Make sure to clearly communicate your availability and follow up if they miss the planned time. Also, be ready for a manual SMS test if they need to troubleshoot the problem.
