Issue with Perk Activation Key on Customized Controls

Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue with the new Perks system in Overwatch 2. When I try to select a perk during a match, the game does not recognize my assigned keybind if I have customized the controls for that hero.

EDIT: I found a solution—manually setting the perk key for each hero individually works fine.

Here’s what happens:

  • The default key for selecting a perk is Left ALT, but I’ve been using that key for the ping system for years.
  • I tried reassigning the perk selection key to the key located next to “1” on the keyboard (I believe it’s the apostrophe key), but that didn’t work.
  • I then attempted to assign other keys like “K” and “L”, and even restored the default controls, yet the issue persists.
  • The game shows a message indicating that the perk key is “not configured,” despite it being properly assigned.
  • This issue only affects heroes whose controls I’ve customized—heroes with default controls work fine.
  • Additionally, I have the “Hide HUD” key assigned to Right ALT. However, when I initially changed the perk selection key to the apostrophe key, I observed that pressing it sometimes toggled the Hide HUD function.
  • I’ve verified multiple times that I never configured that key for hiding the HUD; only Right ALT has ever been assigned to that function.

Important: There is no keybind conflict. The assigned keys are free and properly configured, but the game does not recognize them correctly.

Could you investigate this issue? Let me know if you need any additional information.

Thanks!
