Isn't Zarya too weak?

Most of the tanks have a way to escape from danger but Zarya’s 2 sec shield isn’t quite enough to escape and she is very slow as well.

Her ability to shield herself and others is good though. I am not sure why Blizzard doesn’t do something about her character. Is she really balanced?

she’s pretty strong imo

She’s bad because D.Va is broken. Luckily D.Va is being nerfed.

No.

The mark of a good Zarya is being able to get that charge without completely isolating yourself.

If you’re constantly getting caught out and killed because “Zarya’s bubbles don’t last long enough” then you’re just not a good Zarya.

Also, she has the exact same move speed as everyone else. Not sure why people call her slow.

She is strong but feels kinda underwhelming sometimes

She’s pretty good imo

I think aside from balance of power, she’s easy to work around and Zarya doesn’t have a kit the enemy want to bang their heads on a wall for. Zarya has a very good gameplay design.

Zarya is more dependent on team composition than any character in the game. Playing her alongside Rein/Lucio with another main healer? Can carry the entire game and is borderline broken. Played without a Rein/Lucio, she shouldn’t even be considered tbh.

She also suffers from a lack of mobility, and there are a lot of areas on maps that exploit this.

You are playing her in qp or in competitive ?

Same speed? are you sure…

Only thing I wish they would change is make RMB cost 20 ammo instead of 25, thus giving her 1 additional shot before reloading.

She got a niche, in which she is strong. It really depends on communication tho - she is arguably the hardest Tank, but can turn around a game in a heartbeat

That’s why i have a hard time playing her in quick play. Most of the time, Rein isn’t part of the team.

Zarya is going to come into the meta in a big way in season 10 probably. She completely ruins Brigittes life.

At full charge she arguably has the most dps output then anyone else. But like mentioned above, Is very composition dependent.

Just a bit of trivia, not everyone in the game has the same walking speed. Tanks tend to be a bit slower than everyone else.

Zarya is only weak because the meta doesn’t favor her and much of the maps don’t either.

She is extremely strong on maps like Kings row because most of the fights happen in pretty narrow corridors and also because it favors the play of tanks like Reinhardt and Orisa and works all the way through the map and not just some parts of it.

We can also factor in the strength of Dva and Zarya gets left out in the dark even if she has one of the strongest ult in the game and devastating damage at high charge.

Then don’t play her without a Rein, she won’t work very well with most other tanks. Also, like somebody above mentioned, don’t get caught alone as Zarya. She is meant to be played while brawling with her team. If you have 5 dive heroes, switch to something more viable or you’ll have a bad time.

Not sure why Comp/QP makes a difference. You don’t run off on your own as Zarya. You step forward, grab charge, and back up into your team again, not go out on a joyride pretending you’re invincible.
I guess in QP your team is more spread out and this is harder to do well, but that’s why we don’t balance around the “lol it’s just QP” game mode.

Also yes.
Every single hero in the game, with the exception of Tracer, Genji, and a Lucio on speed boost, runs at the same 5.5 m/s.
The only thing with Zarya is she doesn’t have a single mobile ability, so she can seem slow when compared to someone like Soldier or Dva. But without any abilities, they’re all the same.

Would be cool if the game acknowledged your barrier saving a hero somehow. I’ve seen a clutch barrier swing a game.

And her ultimate is fantastic. A good Zarya is terrifying in close quarters.

Zarya with Orisa is one of the worst synergies in the game imo, and I really wish people would stop playing this. Zarya is best with an aggressive Rein (+lucio), you get a ton of charge by playing alongside him. On the other hand, Orisa probably the most static/defensive hero in the game, and has next to no brawling capabilities like Rein does.

Literally every single source I can find says otherwise (with the exception of Tracer and Genji).

Maybe you’re thinking of how other heroes have mobile abilities, whereas tanks typically don’t, so they get a free little speed boost when walking out of spawn whereas you just get the base speed the entire way.
