Isn't voice chat recording unconstitutional?

Also because terrorists legitimately used things like Minecraft to recruit members for a bit

Thats basically it.
I get complaining about heroes being locked on the BP, its annoying. The phone requirement is also annoying depending on your plan or if several people on your family, specially kids, also play OW.

… now complaining about something that we know how it works for years and its on the EULA, cmon now. That is just "im looking for things to get offended and create outrage".

You will see a lot of that here though

Well, welcome! haha. It’s mostly just people that don’t understand simple things. Still fun though :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha, I understand that. But holy crap.

The 4th amendment only applies to the government. Public education is funded and managed by the government. Blizzard is not. Try again.

Yep. corporations are just allowed to do whatever they want. DUH. government has no say in what corporations do. How do people not know this?

It depends on where. In some places consent is only needed from one party to record. (Both US and international)

Consent is given by using their service. By all parties. Nothing even remotely close to illegal is happening here.

I’m not denying that just pointing out that no it’s not illegal. And as you stated this covers the areas where the 2 part consent is needed.

So yeah it’s not illegal.

No. In short, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

You’ll give them consent when you agree to the new EULA and download the game.

You know what else is unconstitutional?
Threaten, flame and call all sort of slurs to a total stranger over a videogame.
I’m all for vc transcripts if it means punishing these people

I am no proponent of recording people’s voice chat - but - I’m sorry, saying it’s “unconstitutional” is just massively wrong.

Blizzard is not the government. Blizzard can do things they want that the government can’t. -END OF STORY.-

This is the same reason why you don’t have your vaunted “FREEDOM OF SPEECH” in online games. The government can’t stop you from expressing your opinion. Blizzard can - at least by banning you.

Now - is it right that Blizzard is violating people’s right to privacy? No. It’s wrong. But it’s not “unconstitutional”. It’s not “illegal”. Acting like a lawyer, when you have no law experience whatsoever, does so much more to HURT your cause, than it ever will to help it.

Yep that’s what RedKite explained with their response of agreeing to use their services.

Yup. The trick is public schools are an extension of the government.

Where as Blizzard is not, they are a private business.

And freedom of speech has no impact on a private, only on public.

Yes, George Washington actually added this in the constitution. He said “gamers like… Totally shouldn’t have their voice recorded, that’s kinda stupid ya know?”

I can’t believe people know so little about the American constitution, it’s literally right there! :woman_facepalming:t2:

Feel like a broken record with this - moderated for Warframe for some time.
I had the same types of arguments from players.
