Is Widowmaker a throw pick on console?

I feel like it is…she’s extremely countered unless the user is using a M+KB (This has happened so many times to me) or they are aimbotting (only met one once).

I know a Widowmaker. How he is in Plat I will never know.

His skills as Widowmaker are that of a Masters/ low GM.

Widow has a very high skill ceiling, so it makes sense that all the egotistic players try to show off their nonexistent skills with her in competitive.

Given Widow’s high skill floor and the D-pad controller’s lack of precision + speed, yeah, it’s pretty bad, even with aim assist.

picking widow is looked at as worse than picking attack torb and sym so yeah it’s more than a throw pick whether your good or not

Not really no. Idk why people underestimate a widow just cuz it’s console. There have been hundreds of shooting games with snipers for console for years, There are people who are good at aiming with snipers on console.

I’ve had very good widow teammates and have also been on the receiving end of good widows.

I’m not a widow main. But yes widow can be good on console.

We gotta learn to treat the pc and console version of OW as different entities, because they are, they play at a different pace. And there are good widowmaker on console that are great, at consoles pace. Cuz she’s not unlike other FPS.

Widow on console is basically the little girl who plays baseball in movies. The enemy team see her, and they’re all like “awww wook at wittle widow” and then if she gets a few headshots they are scrambling and don’t know what to do.

That being said, I wouldn’t really ever pick her on 2cp defense. Attack good, defense not so much

eh, in masters they are mostly decent. Some are GODS and some are garbage. But anything below diamond i would say is a throw. I’ve seen some extremely good platinum hanzo’s, but he can always fall back on that scatter arrow :stuck_out_tongue: not for long though.

Definitely not a throw pick. I’ve seen a lot of widows that can put in some serious work. And no, they don’t have to use KB+M to be good.

Lots of people do assume someone is throwing when they pick Widow though, which is sad to see. People tend not to even give them a chance to show their worth before they start yelling ‘switch.’

Nah. You can do really good on Widowmaker on console. Granted it’s harder than PC, but it’s still perfectly possible. See Bambique. Even I, who is typically a not great Widow, has had moments of absolute domination of the other team.

Ever seen the snipes people make in halo? There are incredible widows on console and I have no problem with anyone picking them slong as they’re not throwing

If you are under diamond then yes. If you see a Widow, 99% of the time it’s after your team starts losing.

She’s very doable on consoles, but you have to set the controller settings for her properly. Linear ramp, 100% aim smoothing is the start. The sensitivity is subjective. But she can be really oppressive once setup right.
