rly when u play tutorial athena sais that the ult ability can change the course of the game but valk…hmmm
zen can save u from grav_dragon
ana can make ur whole team push
lucio too
moira and brigittah
but mercy? how is that
old mass rez could change the course of the game
but when a mercy valk tactical visor or deadeye will make u shut down
HOW IS THAT?
It does insane amounts of healing. Definitely can change the course of the match.
After the healing nerf, yes, Valkyrie will truly be a pathetic ultimate.
3750 healing potential is nothing to sneeze at. It also makes Mercy harder to kill.
Even in game tips suggest that Mercy’s value comes over time. Makes sence that her ult is a general buff that lasts for some time…
Its basically a more versatile version of Moiras, but has less upfront impact
Still a great ult
It’s pretty good now. I fear after the nerf it will become rather underwhelming, though.
Valkyrie makes Mercy infinitely harder to kill as she can fly freely, even better than Pharah
Her healing also increases drastically, both in regards to amount healed and making the healing AoE
Sure it’s not as flashy as many others but it’s effective at both keeping your team alive and, more importantly, keeping Mercy alive
Would you mind explaining where you get this number from?
It’s definitely useful and one of the most versatile ults in the game. I mean you can mass heal, mass boost, or shoot without reloading and all from the air. It’s pretty nifty
3750 Is the maximum potential healing Mercy can do in valk, assuming her beam stays connected to her entire team for the full duration of the ult.
15 second duration X 50 HPS = 750HPS
750 HPS multiplied by 5 (Teammates) = 3750
It’s a movement ability with soon-to-be mediocre AoE healing.
Valk is an utter joke of an ult.
60 heals per second for 16 seconds on 5 allies equals 4800 heals theoretically possible. 5450 with Ana granade.
It’s 50 after the nerf
while useful it really lacks impact, i’ve never seen it turn over a losing fight, its always used to win a fight you were already winning, but more so.
I can change the tide of a fight or push by popping Valk and healing several members of my team through some serious damage. I can also make a team fight successful by giving several people damage boost and just watching the enemy health bars disappear.
If a Mercy pops their ult with no situational awareness or ult economy for their team and the enemy ults that counter her as well, and dies to Deadeye or Tac Visor… they deserve it.
Valk is powerful, but lacks “impact”. It lasts too long, requires little timing and can be attained too frequently. It’s weak by ult standards but it’s usually available for the bigger portion of team fights which makes it seem almost like Mercy’s default state.
Thanks. But this rarely happens. This argument comes from the same kind of people who claimed every mass rez was a 5 men rez.
She has the potential yes but it happens almost never.
Instead of Valkyrie I would have preferred “Triage”
Res all in range but have their health rapidly decay until they die. If mercy can outheal the rapid decay timer she can prevent that player from dying.
Building around valk and keeping res made her feel choppy.
I think Valkyrie’s healing is mediocre, it can easily be overwhelmed by an ulting Genji or any other ult really. It’s seriously inferior to Zen and Moira’s ultimates in terms of healing.
What I use Valkyrie for the most is the damage boost when pushing a point. The damage is insane when 5 team members are boosted, especially if one of them is ulting. It turns the tide of the fight every time.
I think a lot of people are trying to use Valkyrie defensively and that’s why they’re failing, when it needs to be used offensively in order to be successful.
