Is using a soundboard a reportable offense

title

I doubt it. I’ve seen many YouTubers use soundboards and played with others using it for fun. As long as you don’t use it against Code of Conduct i.e. harassment, bullying, etc, you should be ok.

Everything is a reportable offense.

No one will report you unless you annoy them.

If you DO annoy them, you will deserve the ban which will follow.

That’s a really horrible mindset

It is reality, you can argue against it, but that is how the game works.

“If you do annoy them you deserve the ban that follows” I literally just got reported by a throwing 5 stack for picking bastion

He is using the sound board.

If he annoys people with it, he will get banned. If he doesn’t he won’t

What isn’t straightforward about that?

He isn’t asking about hero picks or throwing 5 stacks. He is asking about the sound board.

It is reportable, and he can will banned for it if he is annoying.

there is zero accountability for reporting so you WILL get reported probably at least once every game doing this. there’s always gonna be the guy who instantly mutes you and says nothing, then does a silent report on you. and the entire time you’re gonna be thinking you didn’t bother anyone.

remember the entire system is automated, if you eat a high enough number of reports, you will get actioned against. just fair warning if you find yourself 2 weeks from now sitting out a 7 day silence or temp ban.

wth… just mute them, no need to report.
Jeez people…

I tried one time with the david meme voice.
I got a warning.

So if people report you then yes. However what is reportable or not is not really establish.

Well, I see no reason to report for using a soundboard. However, if you are using one to ruin the audio team chat experience in an obvious manner I would mute AND report.

It’s a community policing system, Blizzard has next to no direct involvement with the system aside from whatever maintenance and bug fixing it needs. Whatever they say can and can’t be reported is completely meaningless. They’ve said multiple times one tricking is not a bannable or reportable offense, but I dare you to open a new account and one trick literally any hero, you’ll eventually eat a suspension even if the hero is meta, but anytime your team demands a swap and you don’t do it you’re getting reported, it’s just the way the community is.

Probably not, but I’ve literally never seen a soundboard used in any situation where it wasn’t horribly annoying.

I’d definitely report someone for using one.

My boyfriend does a pretty good Junkrat impression, just cannot do the laugh. Probably because he’s Australian already and it’s just a tonal pitch change for him.

I got to get him talking more in QP…

No, using a soundboard is not a reportable offense in and of itself.

I think there’s a right way and a wrong way to use a soundboard if that’s what you want to do. If you get enough options that it makes sense and it can be funny, I think that’s good.

I had a guy in one of my QP matches who was rather spammy with it though… it clogged up comms and distracted me and made me angry. I didn’t report him, I just muted him.

Just don’t be annoying, in my opinion.

True, but they will.

I mute people pretty early, and don’t bother reporting

It’s just for fun. I do a lot of hero impersonations and some of the reactions from other players are hilarious!

The other night I had a McCree team mate with a southern accent and our mic chat went like this:

Winston (me): “Hey McCree, what time is it?”
Player on McCree: “It’s umm… 7:45”
Winston (me): “Its not… high noon?”
Player on McCree: “It’s 7:45”
Winston (me): …
