Is this your first battlepass ever?

i was wondering about this if the majority overwatch community haven’t experienced battlepass before and many are just assuming thing when the game haven’t been released yet ( hope no more delay this time )

I’m pretty excited for it.

No it’s not but ive never bought one, and never finished it either since i didn’t buy the premium.

so…are you gonna buy OW2 first season ? im kinda confused with your word

I played Gems of War and trust me, it’s 100x scummier than anything OW will ever have.

The ones who never participated in a batllepass seems to be the optimistic ones xD

The first time it may not even look that bad but the things stack up when you want to do it for every season.

Yep, first one for me. Sad to see that this is what the gaming industry is coming to.

No.

I haven’t seen one that enhances gameplay either. For the most part the main appeal is an arbitrarily created “value”. At best, it’s unnoticeable and at worst, it’s a set of online chores with a deadline.

No I have bought other BP in other games.

No I wont be participating in this one because there are multiple things wrong with it:

  • Intentionally removing premium currency from BP
  • Intentionally adding filler cosmetics not on theme of the BP (DVA Genji Kiriko are the only cyberpunk themed skins, mercy’s is good but not on theme and the rest are **** lol) so that people are pushed more to the shop (you have a cyberpunk sojourn skin in the shop, why isnt it in the BP and instead she has a bad discount Apex bangalore military skin) + the junkerqueen one looks like an epic …
  • Looks super grindy compared to other BPS for less reward

(maybe I will buy it, but only on an alt account so I can ‘trade’ the account in to triple what i bought the BP for lmao

The fact that we are at the point where you have to say “well at least it’s not as bad as the worst mobile game” shows how awful OW2’s business model is. F2P games are essentially mobile games running on a PC/console. PC/console gamers used to mock and dismiss F2P games and mobile games. Now some of y’all are shilling for it. These are dark days for the AAA gaming industry.

Play another game and stop complaining about a game you no longer play and are not interested in playing.

Stop being a weirdo.

Says the kid who goes into every thread saying “I’m going to buy skins on launch day and post pictures on the forum to annoy anonymous people on the internet”. The irony.

What was the first major live service model? WoW? So around 2006?

No, I’ve played Siege, where there are free and paid tracks, with new heroes behind a paywall/grindwall. I’m vehemently against the concept, not only because of compromised competitive integrity, but also because people do all sorts of dumb things to level their pass and gameplay quality suffers every time the weekly challenges turn over.

I will say that the one thing that goes a long way toward mitigating issues is that you can buy new operators with earned ingame currency that’s priced similarly to a legendary skin and takes about as much effort as 3k credits in OW1, and you can stockpile credits before the patch drops.

Kind of? I played a little bit of TFT and they also have a battle pass with free cosmetics

No, but a battlepass system has never managed to make me care at all.
The Overwatch battlepass might be different to me, because the cosmetics in overwatch are so cool.
However my opinion of the battlepass is soured because it contains the new heroes.
