Is this the only pvp with invisible character?

Destiny has it, fortnite has had it at times. Apex legends has something similar. Its in various Halo games

The funniest game I’ve seen that had permanent stealth was called “Screencheat” where all players were invisible, but the game was split screen.

I haven’t played any other shooters where players had access to permanent stealth, especially not while also being able to move around. The other games I’ve played that did were MMOs like WoW with Rogues that would just stunlock you from 100-0 out of stealth.

no there are a couple of shooter games with invisibility, but normally its a long cool-down ability or can only be used out of combat before an encounter

You know you can still hear her, right?

And that she talks and gives away her position all the time? Every time she hacks a health pack, every time she uses translocate, every time she comes out of stealth.

And that she’s visible for .5 seconds before the hack animation starts, and for .5 seconds after vanishing you can still see her outline?

You also know how to spy check, right?

If you hit tab and see the enemy team has a Sombra but you don’t see the Sombra, try turning around and spamming fire in all directions behind you. You’ll find her.

You also know if the enemy team has a Sombra that YOUR team just needs to play tighter together so she doesn’t get any value, right? Like you know that your 10 mile distant Ashe/Ana/76/Widow is at fault for dying to Sombra because they are isolating themselves and making themselves easy prey… right?

Aren’t you like, high rank? How do I know how to deal with Sombra and you don’t?

Team Fortress 2.

You know… the game Overwatch was based on.

No one who thinks TF2 is dead is willing to listen to evidence to the contrary.

Huh…

I don’t know why, but it reminded me about ghost knocking in W:A that we used to play

bros literally never heard of tf2 lol

While it is possible to load your own stages on the GPU, this isn’t going to happen in a competitive shooter.

They would have to stop her showing at all.

Halo had invis as a power up, they were on making Sombra tho. They reworked Sombra, didn’t remove invis…made her more oppressive in the dps matchup…

Paladins has a invis sniper tho Strix lmao

Thats good advice! I think some players (including myself) need to put in the extra effort to counter a cloaked Sombra.

guess you have never played “super monday night combat” it was an amazing third person shooter on steam. it had an melee assassin that could go invisible.

Didn’t expect to see some one else on this forum that enjoyed this game.
Sad that its no longer playable.

There’s a discord group that sometimes reactivates SMNC’s servers so that people can play it. Its against the rules to link directly to the group, but if you find adjacent SMNC related discord groups you can find a link.

…while standing still. There is a resource meter when you move that depletes.

Not fully invisible as the eyes can be seen and the hero still makes audible noise, and it’s a limited time powerup.

Oh a hero which can kill instantly. That is kinda the tradeoff here.

And also famously complained about, especially the notorious “face stabs”.

Yes, but also not really used in competition because it is so weak.

I just play QP only and have a totally new approach… I’ll paste it here from another comment in wrote:

I, too, have been upset about the absurdity of perma-stealth and how it immediately ruins Overwatch as a game, regardless of which team wins, for quite a while.

But I suggest a new approach.

Embrace the absurdity. Since she ruins the match, use the match to get better and enjoy the game again. Instead of worrying about the other 4 enemies or the objective, simply dedicate yourself for every single nanosecond of the match to the Sombra. Simply play “Kill The Sombra” #KTS for the entire match.

I always tell my team before the match starts, “If they go Sombra, I’m going to do literally nothing at all but play “Kill The Sombra” for the entire match”. Now, this is QP only, of course. But so far, I’ve been doing this for 2 days and had NOTHING but positive responses from my team.

And sure enough, if they go Sombra, I go into KTS mode… Do we win? My goal is to not even know… If I am playing KTS well enough, I shouldn’t even know which team is winning. If I’m aware of the objective, it means I’m not focused on that Sombra enough.

It makes Overwatch fun again.

When there is a Sombra, you play KTS.

When there is not a Sombra, you play normal Overwatch and enjoy the amazing game that it is when there isn’t a perma-stealth hero ruining it.

It’s super simple. I highly, highly, highly recommend everyone plays #KTS moving forward in all QP matches.

My personal favorite to use is Tracer. But as Tank, I use D.Va. Support, I use Kiri or Lucio.

And remember, it doesn’t matter if she kills you more than you kill her. What matters is that you focus on her every nanonsecond. The only way you lose KTS is by focusing on anything other than Sombra. You wanna hit that 100% mark where you focus all 100% of your energy on that Sombra.

Good luck and have fun!

Well, guess what, it was on a timer when she released. You went invisible for five seconds or something, but guess DPS mains hated that. I just go Winston and zap her till she leaves. That’s what you do - you get some splash. Zarya, Mei, Brig for AoE “beams”, Moira for the orbs and secondary fire, Junkrat or Pharah for splash. She runs away? Okay, payload is free. She stays invisible spams voicelines? Even better, she’s just waisting her team’s time.
