Is this how all of your Employees think of us?

Wow… you know, I play Sombra because I’m good at Sombra, I can play every other hero but I just don’t feel comfortable playing them and it makes me feel like dead weight, when I play Sombra everything just makes sense; sure it’s not what the team wanted in the beginning because people underestimate one tricks, but that doesn’t mean I should be reported or given a consequence because of it, this goes for anyone who’s isn’t intentionally throwing.

Maybe 2/10 games someone’s mad that I picked Sombra the entire time… but what game doesn’t have toxic people? Sorry If this sounds extra but reading this from a former Blizzard employee has me quite offended and makes me feel like even the current Blizzard employees despise of people like me.

One tricking is selfish. There’s no other way around it. His words are spot on.

A former, most likely salty blizzard employee made a rant. Not much to talk about.

Yeah sure it’s a bit selfish but you need to give people a chance, they one trick the hero for a reason.

if you don’t want the community’s ire, pick for your team rather than for yourself once in a while

Looks and sounds like a d-waffle. Their opinions are probably why they don’t work for Blizz anymore anyway. lol

I promise you almost every single argument and debate going on right here on this forum goes on inside the Overwatch development team. You can’t expect them all to be perfect advocates of player prerogative.

I think most of the Bliz employees know it is a problem and know the community for the most part hates it. One tricking goes against the spirit and design of the game. While I can’t say banning people who do so is right, you bought the game and as long as you aren’t completely griefing you play how you want. That said steps to hinder it need to be taken.

One-tricking in competitive is generally frowned upon, since people’s ranks are at stake. In general, competitive is about winning, and in order to win, you must be able to flex. Remember, if something counters you, you must be able to change to counter it!

But I understand. You bought the game just like everyone else. But perhaps Quick Play would be best for you. People are generally uncoordinated, but at least they won’t flame you for going Sombra.

One tricking when your team needs something else is selfish, sombra is such a situational pick that one tricking her and “playing her the entire game” is so incredibly close minded and selfish it’s unbelievable.

If this was my game I’d make one tricking into the category of griefing in a TEAM GAME, if you want to be selfish go play COD

But that’s the thing, I don’t do bad in Competitive play as Sombra, the amount of times the enemy team has defended me because my team wanted to report me and the enemy team says “the sombra is carrying tho” and we end up winning anyways is crazy.

Half the time I don’t even feel like Sombra has a counter because I literally don’t have trouble playing her, i practically 1v1 Roadhog’s and Soldier 76’s who are using their Biotic Field or almost any enemy hero for fun because I know I’ll win and ruin their plan… Quickplay makes me feel like “I belong in the place where people go because they’re not good enough.” I don’t deserve to feel like that just because I’m a one trick who’s underestimated.

One-tricking is like having a whole roll of tools, but then only using the flathead screwdriver for everything.

Yes, you can screw on things designed for a flat head. However:
You cannot as easily screw in things done with a phillips head screwdriver,
You should not and cannot reliably hammer in any fashion
You definitely cannot be used as a wrench to tighten or loosen nuts or bolts.

You’re literally force picking other people. You’re being selfish is causing other people to enjoy the game less, because either they accommodate by being a different tool to support you, or in some situations a flat-head screwdriver just isn’t required for work.

Sombra is a situational pick if you play her like a situational pick. To me, or at least when I play Sombra she’s just a more fun and more effective version of Soldier: 76 or Tracer, why stand on the high ground as soldier and try and shoot healers above their shield when you can simply run up behind them, take their shield away and kill their healer, then act like you left only to be waiting for Mercy to try and Rez them and then you just hack her too and say “Boop” and leave.

Yeah, maybe if you one trick Symmetra and try to play her on Offense, sure that comparison makes perfect sense, but with a good Sombra? Not really, someone else can play what they want and I’ll play Sombra as the 2nd DPS and it works fine, just like a Soldier and Tracer would be the DPS duo.

Also, Im not an unswitchable one trick, if we legit NEED something, Im more than happy to swap.

I disagree. They one-trick because they can’t be bothered regardless of the reasons to learn more heros and force their five team mates to work around their short comings.

One-tricking is selfish. No way to explain their way out of it. It just is.

Well I’m not that type of one trick. That might as well be called a thrower in most cases which I’m not.

And I don’t deserve to be forced to choose between playing someone I don’t want to to accommodate the one trick whose pick is terrible for the current match and losing that match, yet here we are.

Nobody complains when the one trick’s choice works. They complain when it doesn’t, and when there are multiple one tricks who want to use the same hero.

This isn’t a comment on you particularly. Just my general view.

It’s not a simple issue. Bliz has let it go on for too long. If they made a decision about one tricking back in season 2 or 3 (like they did when they removed hero stacking in comp), it would be forgotten by now and the issues surrounding it wouldn’t exist. By now there are too many people who are entrenched in their choices and won’t budge because they’ve been told that they’re entitled to it.

That makes you a Sombra main not a one trick. You are willing to switch if and when needed. One tricks don’t switch no matter what.

Like me I main Junk and Dva I would say like 75% I play. But will always switch to a different tank or DPS is needed. Just prefer playing them is all.

Being selfish is human nature, everyone is selfish, and who claims he isn’t is lying.

Not being selfish is an anomaly.

Oh dear, here come the reinforcements. Someone mentioned one tricking.

All this obnoxious, worn-out debate aside, blizzard employees are actually people you know…

They are not perfect and they’re surely capable of being annoyed at this game just like everyone else. You shouldn’t try to make a mountain out of a molehill with this.

That said, this specific person seems to be flaunting that he previously worked for blizzard, and that’s kinda just sad. He prob got fired for his terrible attitude or something lol
