Is there any reason to play Hanzo anymore?

I used to play tons of Hanzo when the game first released! Something felt so good about the arrows and his gameplay

I stopped playing for years and just picked up OW2 for the first time. I figured let’s try out Hanzo again, but sadly, he feels awful

something about his arrows don’t feel right anymore. You can actually play classic and literally feel the difference! They changed something about the arc or angle or something

Also, does he not one shot headshot anymore??? I swear I’ve gotten plenty of headshots that didn’t kill and I KNOW I charged them fully. If this is true, then what is even the point of playing him? It’s like taking Widow’s one shot away. Making him an even worse sniper

Am I just missing something here? What changed over these years to make my boi feel like trash to play?

There are just too many things to list. But the removal of Scattuh more or less summarizes my thoughts. Hopefully Hawkeye is more fun in Marvel Rivals.

players hating one shots, and blizzard trying anything BUT the one shot originally to balance him. Arrows charge slower, Ult moves slower, you cant wallclimb arrow, everyone else got a projectile buff, while hanzo didnt. I would take a 6 second lunge, a 10 second 65 damage storm arrow, AND 225 hp for the larger primary fire that does 250 on crit and charges in 0.75

Sorry, are you saying they DID take out his one shot?

Why would they do that when one shots and pseudo one shots already exist in the game elsewhere? Like junkrats combo, widow snipe, etc.

Just seems like making hanzo bad for literally no reason. I get the same feeling being rando headshot by widow that I used to when getting rando headshot by hanzo. Where’s the delineation to them?

no, its in, they just toyed with removing it for a while, and the nerfs associated with it left him much less fun imo

Would you mind explaining how I’m not getting one shots on regular squishies? I guess the only thing I can think is I somehow didn’t charge them long enough but I’m fairly positive I did, even with the changes. Is there a damage fall off now maybe?

Hawkeye is better because he is only skill shots, since he has to track his target to charge his bow. Hanzo can spam shots and never even see the target and get a kill.

Hawkeye looks like a 1000% better Hanzo.

So only tracking is skill, flick is not skill?

Agree.junks nades are also wierd.i think its them playing around with how fast they drop ie added gravity

Hawktuah seems less cancer before you can’t prefire one-shots and you lose the one-shot if you don’t track properly  I’m so excited to play jeff and rocket raccoon again… i need to know the details of ultrons kit

jeff is my character for… reasons.

I’ll be honest here, scatter was actually a pretty bad ability besides the nostalgic factors and some funny moments. Strength wise, hanzo became much better after the storm arrow rework.

The whole reason he became so worse to play is just because the nerfs he received from s12 for the exchange of oneshot.

Its called 250 hp now

Flick is definitely a skill, but what percentage of Hanzo players get kills off of flicks and not just random spam? Random spam Hanzos are less skilled Junkrats, since he can 1HK without ever seeing a target and Junkrat cannot.

Hawkeye’s skill would be tracking and aim, since his weapon appears to be hitscan from the gameplay footage available.

Hanzo is horribly balanced. Balancing a hero around being inconsistent is horrible.

I guess that makes sense. I do remember games back in the day were like… Hanzo hard carried the game, or Hanzo was the worst player in the lobby

He can oneshot 250 HP targets (restored recently). Dragon got a nice buff in being able to destroy deployables, which honestly should have happened years ago. He’s much weaker than any hitscan, but he’s currently in a pretty decent spot if you’re good at him.

Give it a few days playing him and you’ll be fine! Its been years since you played him!

Although he can still be a problem for tanks and a good pick against some, the fact they now have so much HP and crit reduction means Hanzo is less effective with his spammy storm arrows than he used to be.

Might as well go cassidy and fth->roll->ftp to get massive damage off consistently on large tanks. And he’s hitscan with a high fire-rate and better accuracy than hanzo.

Yes, the arrows prior to his rework had a much larger arc, which gave him his own character. I just made my Hanzo reticle into a big solid dot that looks like an apple that I put on top of peoples heads and get a pretty high headshot ratecosplaying an incompetent William Tell.

I am dying for the next iteration of OWC that has scatter arrow and Orisa

hanzo is problematic in ow2. not bcs of balance or anything like this. the game engine has issues with latency and projectiles. if you dont play right next to their server, hanzo suffers from no regs. half of your shots simply miss even if they shouldn’t. i play soj and mei and hanzo is the only hero who is affected from this so much. i was one trick hanzo up to masters. i think i cant even be plat1 anymore. i cant even hit hog and dva from accross the point, he is bugged.

That would explain a lot! Because I swear on everything I hit some of these shots and there’s no hit register. That’s so sad
