Any like “this is a battle simulation” for them to hone their skills before fighting the robots or something?
Nothing gameplay-wise outside of Archive events are canon so not really

It was confirmed by the writers that the game isn’t canon - the matches we play are akin to playing with action figures, making up scenarios.

The maps are canon. At least partly (doomfist attacking omnic guars, Wrecking Ball missing on Horizon etc.)
But then again there are things like heroes’ records in the arcade and I do not see them playing such games…
