The amount of flagrant cheating in this game is crazy. I stopped playing this game a while ago, and decided to re-install to see if any progress was made throughout the months I ceased play. What did I go back to? Blatantly obvious cheating.
We’re talking WM’s that see you without their ult up, and you’re playing Sombra. McCree and S76 players pre-firing around corners with crazy accuracy. Just all sorts of wild nonsense. And before anyone says, “Hackers don’t exist, supply code, etc.” It’s so obvious that it’s reached a point where people aren’t even trying to mask it. Just go into competitive, and play in any Diamond+ lobby. Or heck, go into QP. 3 out of 5 of my games seem to be either wall hack or aimbot WM/McCree.
Did the devs stop caring? Are there no more ban-waves and or measures in place to detect people using cheating software? I have seen a lot of threads of people getting banned/suspended for asking people to swap off characters, and or do their roles. But, where is the problem being addressed of the massive amount of cheaters?

The cheating is bad in Overwatch.
And yet… worse in most other FPS games.
FPS players are just gutter-tier people.

I don’t know about other FPS titles, as I haven’t played any recently. But, I do know that the cheating is REALLY bad at the moment in Overwatch. Like really, really, bad. Like people are boldly doing it now.

True, quite a few even admit it when called out. Cheaters who give themselves away with their battletags are also getting more and more common, I encounter these daily, for example: Haxon, B0tboi etc.

There is an anti-cheat… They care but it only takes few days or weeks for the cheat provider to update their cheat again. Every fps game has cheater problems, doesn’t matter kernel anti cheat or not.
A cheater just has to spoof their hwid, use vpn or reset their modem for new ip, create free account and cheat again.

Seems instead of an anti-cheat they prefer a cheat detection that puts all the cheaters on a list then bans them all at once every few weeks or months. Might seem better on their end because the cheat makers have a harder time knowing what tipped Blizzard off as to who’s cheating, but it’s worse for the players because you end up with someone cheating for weeks or months ruining everyone’s games in the meantime till they finally get kicked.
And when they do they just create a new free account and start again. If they got booted as soon as they were detected and alot more often (especially before they unlock comp) they might get board and stop trying. Instead you end up with people like the Rank 1 Support on the Asia server openly aimbotting on Bap.

Ya defense matrix (what they call their anti cheat) monitors and detects cheats they dont really stop them they let the players use them and then go back and watch the replays figure out how the cheats are exploiting and then do a massive ban for anyone using the cheat all at once. This way the cheat coders dont have time to adapt and fix stuff such as auto target. It def sucks we have to put up with it for a while when a new one comes out but I suspose they find this way a lot better to keep in check.
I’ve run into very few cheaters, but I only play competitive. So, maybe try that?
Also, if you think OW2 has a lot of cheaters, I suggest you don’t play any other FPS, lol. It’s far, FAR worse.
