I’ve been playing this game since it nearly started.
Recently I’ve had a few games where my ping is 40, but I’m getting all of these lag spikes in Overwatch, but I’m having no problems with other applications.
I’ve never had this problem before, and it only started in the last week.
Has anyone heard of this?

No there is not such a thing as an OverWatch lag hack because the game is a peer to server platform.
It is more likely that you are encountering internet latency issues between it you in the game server. It can happen to anyone at any time and is often due to too much internet traffic on the same route as your connection to the game server.
A winmtr test can help you diagnose where and why any latency in your connection is happening.
I have done this before. And I just did this now as my wife was playing on her computer and having lag issues in game.
WinMTR is showing no issues whatsoever. And in the past I have had lag spikes / disconnects where she is perfectly fine playing.
My point being…it does not seem at all related to our router / ISP / or connection between us and Blizz servers…and yet still sometimes the game lags like crazy. And usually in a couple of weeks it goes away just as randomly.
For instance…I could play 10 games in a row today and maybe 1 will have these severe lag issues. And it appears to be entirely on Blizz end as other games run just fine.
I was just wondering if there is any other hardware issue that could mimic lag/latency issues with the computers. As it is so random and makes no sense.
I am having severe lag issues too. It started yesterday and a few games of Lucio Ball Remix will work but almost immediately I encounter so much lag in the rest of my games that I lose connection to the server. I can easily log back in just fine so I’m not sure what is going on. Nobody else was was using the internet so I know that isn’t the problem and on Wednesday someone else was having strange lag too during a game of LBR. Has anyone else ran into this?
I guess Blizzard MVP support never experienced lag hacks and empty packets of the mid 2000s.
It exists, or did.
With Peer-to-peer online games which was the standard back then and some games today still use. As I said above, Overwatch is NOT a peer-to-peer online game.

probably is a way to increase latency
i’ve played games that are double digit latency then one game its over 130
then next game its ok again??
