I feel like more and more I’m seeing hits that are doing no damage to the enemy player. I primarily play hitscan heroes, and I’m about Platinum/Diamond level of skill currently. Has anyone else noticed anything like this, and know what might be going on? For reference, I do play on wi-fi, but usually have pretty decent ping, like ~20 maybe.
No regs have been a part of the game for as long as I can remember. Sometimes you get unlucky. I once got three back to back to back. Absolutely rigged!
That’s almost certainly your issue.
You can have low ping but still drop packets (which is probably what is happening) - latency is not the be all and end all. Other players can suffer with lag too which is another culprit.
If you absolutely cannot go wired try manually setting your wireless channel to a different one that is not in as much conflict, reduce the amount of devices (and the amount of data used on them) connected to your network, and if that fails; split your 5ghz and 2.5ghz WiFi channels into two separate networks (with separate SSIDs) and isolate the system you play Overwatch on by connecting to one and all the other devices on the other. Which one you connect your Overwatch system to will depend on distance (if further than 1 modest room away, go 2.5ghz IMO but can try the 5ghz first).
That should keep you busy for now. Also might be worth plugging in directly to router and doing a lag test just in case there is noise on the line or problems at exchange or ISP or similar. Hope that helps.
Theirs alot of abilies and ults i notice with it more like rein charge boop dash and blade just doing nothing
This is definitely the issue.
No regs are almost always caused by packet loss. Wifi/wireless connections are notorious for packet loss due to interference. This is almost certainly an issue with your wireless setup.
How’s the performance with wireless keyboards/mice these days? Is there any sort of delay with input that you have to worry about or have they more or less figured that out?
I still use a wired keyboard/mouse for that reason but it’s starting to get on my nerves and I’ve been wondering about wireless.
I used to play wired internet, and felt like I performed better when wired. However, I couldn’t afford my apartment anymore when covid hit.
Wireless tech has come a long way, and having a wireless mouse is a non-negotiable for me at this point.
As for a wireless keyboard imo it doesn’t really matter since you won’t be moving your keyboard a lot unlike your mouse.
Still waiting for the engineers of the world to significantly improve bluetooth tech so I can finally let go of my wired headphones.
I don’t know if all wireless headsets use blue tooth by default or if it’s some other technology… but I got a pair of wireless headphones for christmas (I think the $100 LG ones) and they work great. I haven’t had any sound issues or delays what so ever. Honestly the only complaint I have is I forget to charge them lol
