Yes… It sure would be nice if we had the option to hide our portraits or set our own unlockable or earnable preferences. Instead it looks like Jeff is opting to take them all away from us forever once he decides to drop us into Overwatch 2.
I’m gonna really miss my Diamond Border. It became a part of my online identity, and I loved it. GG trolls and whiners: you get your way once again, at the detriment to the rest of us.

I can’t tho. I’m not going to reveal my IRL situation, but let’s just say that I only leave the house to go grocery shopping, and that’s literally it. When I don’t have company over, I’m playing Overwatch or sleeping. I’m also not grinding to get good, I’m playing ranked to get players I hope would at least attempt to win so I don’t have to try to play the game for them, instead of QP where it’s do whatever you want.
Relatively, I’m gold and at level like 1900. People can’t seem to grasp that not everyone plays to get good.
I thought this was painfully obvious? Blizzard isn’t making the dough off loot boxes. They gotta make more money to please their investors. So more accounts in the answer. Why else?
It takes some real special people to think that a border should equate to skill. Just because you’ve played for a long while doesn’t mean anything. You don’t gain power per level… which they should realize as they too aren’t getting better each time they level up. lol
I always wanted a different way to earn non level related portraits (kinda like you can in D3 during seasons) maybe chunk some into loot boxes? God knows loot boxes could use an update.
Ok, different people mean this in different ways. Some people mean it in a ‘I am basically soft throwing each match and disguise it with just playing for fun/casuallly’, or ‘I just don’t go full sweaty tryhard’. I would like to know what exactly you mean here.
And, I mean, border shaming does suck. All I can give you is to get an Alt account. I also heard they were getting rid of borders in Overwatch 2 so look forward to that.
