So I noticed for the first bit, chat was really quiet. But this last week seems to have gone back to utter toxicity. Back in Overwatch 1, I used to report people and get the “Thank you for reporting.”
Is it that there is no longer a “Thank you for reporting” or is Blizz not actually following up on reports?
i got it during the first week and it was something like “thanks for reporting we punished this player we cant tell you how but we did”
I got one on day one it was the first thing I saw after finally being able to get past the login screen. If that doesn’t tell you it’s the same game I don’t know what does 
I love reporting. I leave match chat and voice chat open, just to find people to report. Here are two:

I’ve read from various places that you won’t always 100% get these even if action was applied. Idk what causes you to get a notification but just have faith that something does or will happen, even if you don’t see the Thank You notification soon or ever.
It doesn’t feel like anything is happening. The way these people are hurling abuse the whole game, and it’s comp, these aren’t new players. I doubt they just started behaving like this.

When I started reporting for gameplay abuse, I began to get messages. Weird that I wasn’t getting any for comm abuse.
I am unsure. I reported a blatant rage hacking Cass a few days ago and I never got any notice. I reported a bunch of bots on world of warcraft the same day and got a thankyou letter in the mailbox. I think they might be removing bad apples but just simply not telling people.
i have yet to get that message on overwatch 2 and ive reported innapropriate BT, people who are saying nasty things and even reported cheaters
Yes, I get one about once every other time I log in each day. I report about 1-2 people per game, mostly stuff like “xxxx diff” and any variation of “ez” (on my team or theirs). Other stuff like racism a handful of times, people that spam voice lines the whole game, outright insults like telling someone they suck, really any sort of crappy sportsmanship at the end of the game except the “ggez” that automatically filters into something else.
I dunno if post-game “ez” is actually bannable/suspendable, but usually such people tend to be jerks elsewhere so it catches them eventually.
In OW1 I used to get the “thank you” regularly. That’s why I’m confused that I haven’t gotten one yet, and the stuff I report is waaay worse than what you’re saying.
Like yesterday was a guy who started with “hope your mom dies” like a minute in and continued to get worse through the game. Not at me, apparently they think that that’s the appropriate response to low dmg. That’s the level I’m talking and getting no response.
Yeah. so far someone has gotten reported every single game ive played, so about 150+ people. Get one each time i boot up the game. It would be nice with some achivements, trophies or something to indicate how many successful reports have been banned. could maybe have a ladder of people who reported the most people. Call it Heroes of Anti Toxic ladder.
