I know that selling and buying accounts isn’t allowed, but if someone I know were to give me their account details so I can temporarily use their account, would I get banned?
I was going to borrow a friend’s account for a video but he said that if I used it I’d get it banned?
Also, can blizzard even track an account’s Hardware ID? Would they even be able to know if the account was logged in from another device?
If anyone actually knows about this or has any experience, please share.
Yes, they can check whether the account is checked in from another device.
No, they can’t see whether or not it is you logging in from that other device.
Personal opinion but i would never share my accounts for anything. I don’t trust the world, family included, further than I can spit. If someone decides to do something, say something, or cheat while they’re on your account there is nothing you can do about it to get it unbanned.
to be honest… theses prices will make account share more viable… if i have a friend that play in diferent hours then me… we could share a account it whould be easear for both to unlock the heores… level 55 is just too much for 90% of players
ok, so my friend lives in a different part of the EU than me, if they notice the account’s Hardware ID has changed location, would they ban the account? We’re not boosting either, I just need to use his account for a video.
I live in Russia, my boyfriend is from UK. Last year he came to visit me during Halloween event and played on my PC to farm skins. So theoretically it should be okay.
Except they do. Virtually every game company can see the IP address of who’s playing, it’s how IP bans happen. If two IPs are in different locations it’s obvious that the account is being shared.
There’s that too. I suppose if the log ins aren’t too close to each other they’ll ignore it. Then again I’ve never heard of a game who actively tracks IP addresses. They only look into it when problems arise.
Think about this.
You go to a friend’s house, install OW and login on your account.
The HWID is going to be different, yes. But they can’t check if the one playing is you or someone else.
So, is it against ToS? Yes.
Can they check if it is not your friend who is using his account on another PC? No.
