Is ranking up in Overwatch 2 EASIER?
It feels this way to me.
Is ranking up in Overwatch 2 EASIER?
It feels this way to me.
I hope not. Cause if it is then I’m washed.
I feel like it is.
Seems like many lopsided matches. But actual climbing has been way easier.
Depends what you mean. The system itself is the same as it was before.
What changed, though, is that there are lots of new players, so everyone who played OW1 and plays at the same skill level will have a higher rank because the average rank went down. I climbed like 1.5 ranks since OW1.
It is.
Its probably an unpopular opinion but I feel getting skill rated over several games is fairer.
Back in OW1, I was drowning in bronze cause of bad connection, made me quit many games and my SR dropped. The game kept me placed in bronze each season with lower and lower SR even if I was winning all my placements and I had all the gold medals.
And just because each defeat costed one victory, skill didn’t matter.
In OW2, even if I lose, I feel like the game is trying to rank me up as long as I’ve dominating stats.
It seems the end of season is also much easier… I guess a lot of players don’t play it anymore to keep their rank safe so only people wanting to keep going up are playing and my games have been much more balanced lately.
I’ve been stuck to silver for all season 1 and yersterday, the game finally put me in Gold.
(Or maybe I’m just getting better, who knows)
i keeps jumping what should be 300 sr on tanks every 13 games or so. assuming maximum variance with 7 wins and 6 loses that is 120 sr or 1 division, but i have now jumped 4 at a time. from bronze 1 to silver 3, from silver 3 to gold 5, from gold 5 to gold 2, from gold 2 to plat 4. granted i havent played that much tank due to long ques and kiriko play being fun. but still. not sure if it is the boost but seems kinda fast.
Back in dead ow1 queue time could be 15 min, and always the same 12 players. whoever got the smurf or boosted mercy stack wins.
Now queue time is shorter, and you get different players and opponent all the time
so it is easier to rank up
It seems like it to me.
There are also a few people reporting being at 5ksr (probably via the cs data request). Kragie and a couple other eu dps but there are others. That shouldn’t be possible unless you’re off hours stacking and wintrading. The top end of the ladder might be inflated by a few tiers.
Maybe even the bottom deflated a few. Who knows. Blizzard probably doesn’t even know lol
I’m wondering if just towards the end of OW1 it was a very small group of players grinding against each other endlessly with no new players to rise up against.
Yes that’s exactly how it was. Everyone knew what to do, group up, counter, when to use ults.
In comparison OW2 is a complete mess. Then to make things worse they took those experienced players from OW1 and deranked them, some even to bronze, while throwing complete newbies into gold and plat.
Nope it’s just the new ranking system making you feel that way. With 5 tiers for 500sr instead of 500sr for 1 rank.
So before you didn’t really notice or think much about gaining 100sr but now it’s “a whole skill tier”. From Diamond 5 to Diamond 4.
And the new system makes you put in more games since you need 7wins to rank. If you compare that to before. People we’re quitting their session after 1 or 2 losses. I think people play more games now even if they are losing. And it’s a constant progression instead of “I have to gain 400 sr right now to rank up”.
it alot easier to rank up to diamond in ow1 than move out of bronze 5
was stuck in bronze 5-1 for a long time then within a 2-3 victories got silver then 3 victories after a huge loss streak gold its very strange
I’ve hit pretty high ranks on both healer and dps so far this season…and it was much easier than OW1.
I’ve also looked at ppl’s profiles and a lot of the OW1 players have gone up a rank.
