Is paladins copying overwatch? The short answer is, no. But paladins has some similarities to overwatch not really copying. Paladins has talents and loadouts that change the entire champion and how you play it (except for Tigron’s Fury it doesn’t do anything). And i don’t think overwatch has talents or loadouts. In overwatch, there are 33 heroes. But in paladins, they have 51 CHAMPIONS! Rei is really unique and has very small similarities to any overwatch hero. Saati can flip coins in the air and make her gunshots go the other way. They definitely aren’t the most creative champions, but come on have you ever seen an overwatch character that has a cursed gun that deals around 850 damage per shot? Or an ogre that can control lightning and his ult makes him fly and also slows enemies near him? Yeah i dont think so. I’m seeing so many people hate on paladins because “they are copying overwatch” and comparing drogoz with pharah, but their abilities are completely different. I dont really like paladins its not as fun as overwatch imo but this is a wonderful game before i played overwatch. I have spent 105 hours on this game and it just makes me pissed off when someone is comparing 2 completely different games. So no, paladins is not copying overwatch. Even if paladins was copying overwatch, which they’re not, who tf cares its a free game with bad deals on micro-transactions.

Pretty sure Bliz is taking a page from Hi-rez with OW2 with the faster-paced 5v5, where tanks and support are dps with different utility. Comps commonly end up 1-2-2 as well.
Tanks there can feel unkillable tho compared to overwatch
Like having their own personal bapt lamp, or having high dmg reductions during certian moments.
It is a copy but paladins ended up being the better designed game. You don’t have to worry about swapping, there are no hard counters and all champs have attacks for any situation.
OW may have more original game mechanics but that means nothing if the balance is trash all the time.
I expect some OW2 tanks to share that trait.
Matchmaker is pretty terrible in both games, unfortunately. Just as many throwers in both as well.
Haven’t played in a while but the last time the match quality in Paladins was better. Also there were no leavers. Just occasional thrower but not even near as often as OW.
But in the time everyone has to setup before a competitive match in Paladins you could complete a mystery hero match or two.

Less leavers is probably due to the locking people out of playing after they leave match, even if its because losing connection to server. (like half a hour thing if i remember right)
Agree. The champion select in comp takes forever. It really needs a serious change.
Which is why OW should do the same.
I guess, tho it was annoying when playing with friends and you are blocked from playing because of problem even connecting to server leading to you not being able to play at all XD
They can make it just short enough so ppl don’t abuse it for leaving.
