Is overwatch failing?

What? lol.

My dream is to be the richest man in the world and to help humanity. Your dream is to play video games? lol. What is more telling.

So when they asked you what’s your dream job. You responded with wealth and charity? That’s not even a job.

I wouldn’t say failing, but more so a bloated corpse being kept alive by whales pouring money into it

It actually is, for people with money, lol.

I can tell you it definitely was not, I want to be a fat loser who plays video games and talks to kids online all day. (although that kind of is my life)

Again fat isn’t required. Not sure why all of them are now fat. I get flats is. But he also has a great personality. And I’m pretty sure he’s aware is demographic isn’t kids. :joy:

I’m sure a lot of adults sit around and watch this guy play video games, rofl.

But, it’s just sad to me to hear you say that you would aspire to be that, when there are so many greater things that you could aspire to be. (and what most people aspire to be, is not that)

It’s sad you look down on people careers and think you have the heart to help people one day.

I kind of think I’m helping you right now? I could be wrong. But, either way, a video game player is not “every kids dream” lol.

You’re not changing anything in my life. :joy:

I’m actually keenly aware of that, lol. I just thought I’d try.

I have seen more paid skins in Foamstars than in OW2.

I called it out the first day that mythic prisms appeared. I knew we would start getting more stuff that costs prisms to make them feel scarce.

Now just wait for Blizzflation to hit where we get less prisms per battle pass and items cost more.

This was the easiest prediction ever. I also called it.

Gotta offset the removal of heroes from the shop somehow.

Not sure, but I know the whole Overwatch team lost out on a major bonus a while ago because OW wasn’t performing as well as some of their other titles. There was a sales goal that they were trying to reach and they weren’t able to do it. Stylosa covered it some time ago but yeah.

It seems like they’re just trying to figure out what monetization strategy works for their game. Its a live service game and the devs have to eat too. The prices of some of their cosmetics is insane though.

At least they aren’t charging $500 for a legendary skin like SOME other franchises. Talk about greedy.

It failed the moment it launched. Everyone with a single brain cell knows this already.

The devs are living on a 6 figure salary for the most part. The only people not on a six figure salary are the QA people and even they make 90k at the minimum. If they aren’t able to eat then it is on them for mismanaging their own money.

They also confirmed that none of the money they make off skins goes towards any of the devs or anyone on that team other than maybe execs and game directors and people far above them. It’s called a scam and it unfortunately works due to psychological manipulation. Buying skins doesn’t feed the devs.

Tell that to the countless studios who died because they think they know better than the players when they objectively do not.

But if the skins don’t sell and people get fired because the higher-ups are losing money, the trickle down will affect everyone. So technically, unless I’m missing something, selling skins may not be feeding the devs directly but it does still ensure that someone has a job.

It wouldn’t ensure that anyways. They can fire anyone they want at any time. They showed that they can and will do this back in January of this year before they missed any deadlines or whatever.

what in the f are you talking about, lol.

Every single game developer hears what the players say and tries to adhere to them, some are just less successful than others at doing so.
