Is Overwatch 2 a Scam Now? (Well it is)

When Overwatch ‘2’ replaced Overwatch of course one of the biggest things we noticed was the monetization of the game. Although most of us are past that topic now, I think it should be brought back to light because the entire reason Overwatch 2 was going to be Overwatch 2 is now just cancelled.

One of the only reasons why I bought anything in shop or bought any of the battle passes, was for the assumption that it would ‘help’ the devs continue their work on the biggest part of the game which was the PVE. But now that all that is gone…where is all this money going? What has actually been happening all this time? It’s very suspicious and in a way malicious.

Plus ever since Overwatch re-lauched again in October of last year we played the game with the mind set that what we were currently playing was just a place holder for what was to come (the PVE). But what we are playing now…is all that we will get, and of course more battlepass s**t can’t forget about that now can we. And as someone who had to PAY for the first Overwatch, being forced to play this now is even more a scam, since what I PAID for before I don’t really own now anyways since it’s ftp.

…Oh ya also when is the first person weapons inspector thing gonna be added? Ya that was also advertized as a thing so I guess that will take millions of years to add as well. lmfao

I love OW and I did the same thing too. Even though I was very iffy on the “Watchpoint pack” I bought it anyways before the launch of OW2 to support the PVE. I was pretty sure it was not a good value for the money if you already owned OW1 but I liked the skins in it. One of the reasons to why I was a little iffy on the Watchpoint pack was because this was the first time I’ve seen a game were 50% of what they sell you we haven’t been told what’s the value of them and what they can be used for.

For instance we never got to see the shop skins for season 1 or even any cosmetics in the first season BP to have enough information to determine if it’s even worth buying which is very weird and I wasn’t fan of at all. I thought maybe Blizzard will eventually show the BP and some cosmetics before the launch of the game but they never did. So players spent $50 on something where the only stuff you know how they look were the 2 skins but you didn’t know what cosmetics the coins could even be used for or even see a single season 1 BP cosmetic. We later came to learn that skins now costs $19 which was probably why they never before the launch of OW2 told you what’s the value of the stuff inside of the pack.

agree…

overscam.

as i wrote yesterday. sad state.

Welp, at least you learnt that you don’t need to “help” a billionaire company.
Next time, wait for the game to release to give them money.

And nah, OW2 isn’t a scam. It is a lot of bad things now, yes, but not a scam.
I believe they didn’t sold anything PvE related.

Even Samito is raging over it.

Kira stating the obvious. They did a rug pull on us.

Samito would rage over anything… Even if they said that they will release PvE in all of its glory tomorrow, he would rage about it. That is his default state.

Yeah, it’s a sad lesson for people to learn. Indie studios need the help sometimes. Multi-million dollar corporations that are giving its CEO a 7-digit bonus? They can afford to make the game without help.

And in general, I always tell people not to buy anything that promises it’s going to be good. Buy it based on what it is now. If you’re okay with the current product, go ahead and grab it. Especially if you think it’s going to get better in the future. But never buy something you’re not happy with on the hope that it’ll become something you’re happy with. Because once they have your money, the person selling it doesn’t have much to lose by just taking the money and walking off to their next project.
