We’re still in need of an evil Omnic in the roster. All our current Omnics are either neutral or good, but none of them qualify as “bad guy” material.
Null Sector gave us a taste of Omnic bad guys, and I’d like to know if they’re still operational or got shut down after Uprising. It’d flesh things out to have a playable Omnic villain.
Oh, and to give an example of an Omnic villain, here’s one of my own designs:
Maximilien is pretty wealthy (at least hes looking like it) and operating from french
I doubt that he has much to do with a terror organisation in britain. Also Null Sector is pretty radical while Maximilien seems to be a pretty calm type, simliar to Zen
If hes part of any terrorist organization its a lot more organized than null sectors “just run everything down” method… E.g. Talon
The thing is, I’d much rather that Max stay an NPC who manipulates things from beyond the battlefields, kinda like Lex Luthor or Senator Kelly (X-Men). He should be the type who doesn’t want to get his hands dirty, and that’d be a perfect role for him.
I bet if Zen wasnt playable from the beginning and we first saw him in a comic we would think the exact same thing
They both look very calm and “peaceful” like theyre never going to harm anyone yet Zen is a murderous omnic monk in the support rooster
I doubt that he will make his hands dirty in some sort of direct combat gameplay. I guess if hes ever going to be a playable hero hes working with drones or has a very stealthy gameplay. Not looking like a fighter doesnt equal not being a playable character. Most supports dont look like fighters, if we saw Lucio at a concert in a comic for the first time most of us would be like “wtf should a DJ be doing in this game”
Yeah, I know Luthor occasionally straps on his power armor to go hand-to-hand with Superman, but he normally views such combat beneath him and only as a last resort.
Hence why I also mentioned Senator Kelly from X-Men, because he’s a pure politician.
One of the High Council of Talon is near certain to be able to defend themselves, even if they usually don’t feel the need to or don’t enjoy doing so.
Someone like Maximillien is even likely to get off on making you think he can’t defend himself, then proving you very very wrong.
Also, pretty much every member of the High Council already “runs things from the shadows” to some extent, while (for those that we are aware of) also being highly powerful/skilled as individuals.
(Also, I don’t get how there’s a potential new hero right in everyone’s faces & the majority of the community is like “Nah I want a different evil Talon Omnic, but Sanjay makes sense as a hero tho.”)
i agree…he seems more the schemer type than the type to get in the middle of things…they have doomfist for that.
i’m fine with side characters being just that…i’ve seen people in other threads say they want emily as a playable hero and i don’t get that…side characters help fill out the world…not everyone needs to be playable to matter
Max is a leader of an international terrorist organization, whose other leaders contain soldiers, warriors, and scientists with access to powerful technology. Excluding him is like excluding Jack Morrison because in Uprising, he just looks like some guy that runs the organization rather than someone who goes out to fight.
Emily is Tracer’s girlfriend. She is just some civilian. She isn’t important in the big picture, just part of Tracer’s personal life.
Maximilien could be a future hero. He would be a nice addition to the roster.
I don’t believe Null Sector is currently active anymore. They may have been destroyed 7 years ago, disbanded, gone underground, or broke apart and formed other terrorist organizations
He’s based in Monaco & judging by his name is likely originally from France, Italy or Greece.
Null Sector, as far as we know, was only seen to affect the UK & could well have been a localised militant group.
As far as things go, Null Sector were likely thought up to facilitate Uprising & for nothing more - but they could still exist in the wider world somehow.
We also don’t know Max’s stance on Omnics in order to judge why he’d be with an Omnic rights group - he’s actually helping spur on the new Omnic Crisis so that’s questionable.
