Daleks come from a British TV show named Docter Who. It is about a person named The Docter who time travels with various companions in a blue box named The Tardis which stands for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space. The series started in 1963 then ended in 1983 but then it was brought back in 2005 and is still running now with the 13th season starting near Christmas. I watched the show over and over. Too bad the german translation in overwatch of “exterminate” says “vernichten” and not “eliminieren” like in doctor who. I only switched to german, to see how it sounds but i was disappointed.
