Mystery heroes claims to be random, but i seem to get some heroes and roles way more often than not. Now, this is all anecdotal, but i never get dps, and when i do get dps its usually echo. Ive had echo like 5 times, ashe 0 times, torb 3 times, hanzo 0 times.
Shouldnt i be getting dps more often since it has a larger roster than support and tank combined?
There is a new rule that if 3 people on your team are in a role you cannot get that role.
But for the most part yes. It is entirely random. People are just REALLY bad at understanding what random means. It does not mean that you will get different characters every single time and cycle through the roster. it’s possible to RANDOMLY get Brigitte every other character, just unlikely.
I have no idea how it is currently, but back in the day it just gave you heroes you rarely played more often than the ones you did. You could easily cross reference it with your combat record.
They have made a lot of changes since, so I have no clue if it is truly random now as I gave up on it long ago.
No. Some heroes like mei appear way more often than others. Several games today I’ve seen 2 meis on teams. Other heroes almost never appear like cassidy and soldier.
In the tank role you almost never see hog and sig is in every fight on 1 team or the other.
Definitely something wrong with the rng right now. I played it a while ago and it seemed much more random back then. I wonder if they broke something when they added the role-limit code.
Sometimes randomness is you get Zayra 4 times in a row which happened to me yesterday
