I’m a 2000SR~ player, and every game I connect to in FFA is populated by players between 3000-3500SR. I would not be making this thread if it was a one-off thing, but it has been happening to me consistently for an entire week. I am not being matched with players of my skill level, with a full 1000-1500SR literal gap being displayed on their profiles. I know that I am not the only low gold tier player that is playing deathmatch, so my only conclusion is to assume that for some reason the game falsely is placing me as a higher SR player than I actually am. Please let me know what I can do to enjoy the mode again other than “get gud”…
You are confusing your SR with your MMR. Your MMR or Match Maker Rating is an unknown number that the game uses to find matches. Your MMR is calculated separately from SR, and is the most annoying and confusing thing about this game. The game is trying to find a game where everyone is as close to the same MMR as possible. USUALLY this matches people with similar SR as well, but SR and MMR don’t always match up. The matchmaker also doesn’t want to keep you waiting for an hour for a game though, so it will take some liberties so long as the match isn’t too absurdly one sided.
Tl;Dr: MMR and SR are separate and don’t always match up, and the game is trying to find a match fast.
I noticed the same thing. I’m in bronze and often play FFA against people in gold Platinum and sometimes diamond.
I think think there is a separate MMR for FFA. I choose to take it as a compliment; being a bronze support/tank main playing these higher Sr players.
But don’t worry, you can’t see anybodys Sr any more so the point turned moot.

Well are you consistently losing and/or being outplayed? If not, you belong there.
Also the SR shown in FFA is for ranked regular so it has little bearing in FFA.
