Is it too easy to get toxic in overwatch?

i dunno i think this is more of a personal problem but i used to be the guy in comp who would always be positive no matter what, now i tilt far too often and fast while before i would never tilt, and dont get me wrong i dont abuse people but sometimes i dont like my behaviour either

does overwatch tend to breed toxicity with its throwers, intalock dps players who never switch and other toxic players or is it just a me problem? either way i want to be more like who i used to be it just feels like overwatch has worn me down but at the same time that feels like a stupid excuse for not ideal behaviour

The game is unsatisfying and is not fun when you dont have a good team. That’s the reason. You get frustrated pretty fast and that can happen after one game…

see that is what its like for me, i used to go 20 games without having any issues but now i get titled after one game, if i do get a good team i feel a lot less titled but then its back to titled if its a terrible team again

yeah. (20 characters)

Yes and the worst part is that voice chat being basically unmoderated (let’s face it, the OW team probably doesn’t keep records of everything said over voice chat) lets voice chat become an abuse infested mess.

Sure they won’t TYPE, which is kept in logs and records.

But people sure have realized that they can talk and be as toxic and insulting as they want in voice chat.

Yes, this game tilted me more than Mario Kart.

Modern team based PVP shooters / MOBAs as a genre seem to breed toxicity more than others. OW, Siege, LoL’s legendarily toxic community, etc.

It’s hard not to be.
When you’re trying to play an fps but have to play first person world of warcraft because certain easy characters need to be meta at the high ranks despite alarmingly few people in here being above Diamond.

Like, why do a couple of golds and plats who will have quit the game 2 months from now have the right to determine what i have to play at the high ranks?
I want to get rewarded for high skill plays. Not for playing the easiest heroes.

The thing about overwatch, is it can make anybody toxic, anybody.

It can be very unfair, and it can just be frustrating by design.

Matchmaking can be a total mess, and the problem is, there is no goal. The only goal you have in overwatch is to win, or to get better at a character.

There is no leveling up, there is no loot, there is no grinding, there is no satisfaction.

Hence when you lose a round, what was the point of playing said round?

For example, destiny can have terrible matchmaking, but even when losing a round of crucible, you still level up, you still get loot, and you still complete the weekly objectives. It’s satisfying to watch your character grow.

You are making progress. There is no progression in overwatch, so People just play to win, and get pissed when they lose.

Paladins does it well. Every character has a separate leveling system, which gives some progression. And every character has there own loot, giving you something to play for.

It’s not nearly as toxic as overwatch

Really is. Mostly because of the team aspect I think. I mean think about it.

You’re doing your job, but then you keep getting wrecked because others arent. And thats if you even have a comp that makes sense. How bout looking at the team and realizing you dont have a healer?

Fuming

“Somebody want to go healer?”
Dude chill, it’s just QP

explosion

Personally it takes a lot for me to tilt, I just do my thing. But it’s easy to see why it happens. You aren’t in control of the outcome, you’re a 1/6th of it.
