I’m just curious, is this even possible? I don’t think this is an issue at all, but do the players use their own setup? Is their hardware checked?
I was in a comp game earlier and an Ashe was using very subtle hacks, not just headshotting everyone but I was skeptical of some of the kill cams. So were my teammates. Then midway through our attack next round, the game was shut down for cheating detected.
I would imagine that their play area is pre selected and setup. So they would not be able to make changes to it.
It has happened before that pro players were caught for using hacks/cheats during an Esports event, so yes, it’s possible. But I also imagine that (almost) all of them do get caught and then it’s bye bye career for them.

It’s definetely possible. Just like cheating in a hard exam…
And it propably already happened that someone was cheating but no one noticed
It’d be easier to cheat now that everything’s online instead of in a live arena. Eventually that stuff comes out though. Like the players with with not so savory offline activity. Looking into the lifeless eyes of Happy makes you think.(joke)
I mean the possabilty is allways there! But most of the players are pretty known streamers and very known players with their skills so if i would hear that someone cheated in OWL i would be beyond suprised.
OWL has very strict hardware and software rules.
Like, when the games were live (in person), the players listed the mice/keyboards they wanted, OWL would buy them from the manufacturers, and then keep them locked up until game time.
With the teams playing remotely now, the rules are different, but they have to play on PCs provided by the league and officials remotely log in to check them before the game.
Players also have to have cameras on them at all times.
The team management also has a large incentive to make sure their players aren’t cheating, seeing as how their franchise spot cost them anywhere from 30 to 50 million US dollars. They don’t want to risk losing that.
If CSGO taught me anything
Then yes, there are possibilities of pros being cheaters.
However, Blizzard AC is definitely better than the meme that is VAC, and so far, no one in OWL has been caught cheating
