Is It Possible To Refund?

Since Blizzard is actively shutting down Overwatch, making the game I bought completely unplayable, is it possible to get a refund? Or to get a reimbursement? Genuine question, as I won’t be playing OW2, which is free to play anyways, and since OW1 is being entirely discontinued for no reason.

No.

The terms and conditions are very clear on the fact that the game can change/discontinue without any hope of a refund.

Sort of like how if they remove shows on Netflix, you can’t just get your money back.

:disappointed:

If it makes you feel better, I wish I could do it to.

No. Even if it were possible, you’d be denied because refunds usually need to be requested within 14 days of purchase.

Even if it was a game on steam you wouldn’t be eligible because you’ve clearly played way more than the eligibility lol.

paid forty dollars 6 years ago (the price of ten big macs). Now you want your money back because they made changes to the game that you dont like.

No. Because they are making the game I purchased literally unplayable. I wouldn’t be asking if they just kept Overwatch alive. But since they are shutting down its servers, I want a refund.

You paid to use a license. The game is free to change as it wishes. You’re free to stop playing it.

It’s not a change. They are shutting down the game I paid to play.

That is a change though.

Well, you won’t be playing anyway. You got what your money paid for the past 6 years.

Shutting off a TV is not the same as changing the channel.

I mean, I’d argue that Overwatch 2 is akin to changing the channel.

But, you do you and try to get a refund and let me know how it goes.

Imo it’s more like a new season of an existing show.

It’s literally an update to the PVP, my god you guys are so dramatic. Nothing is being replaced.

Overwatch is literally being shut down. I don’t understand what you’re not understanding? Is my English incorrect?

It’s akin to neither. In the first case, I could always change the channel back. I cannot. I will lose Overwatch forever.

In the second case, I could never go back to the old season. Like, imagine if every time they released a sequel movie you could never go back and watch the previous one.

Overwatch is not being shut down. OW1 might not be playable, but OW as a whole is still a game and is still playable. If OW was shutting down, they wouldn’t be making a sequel.

And you’re not going to get a refund on game you most likely bought a while ago.
