Hey guys I’m not 100% sure if this belongs here, but I haven’t found an answer yet. I have a support ticket up for an account issue appeal, but I keep getting automated responses that aren’t actually addressing the specific issue/reason I’m appealing. I don’t want to spam tickets because I’m sure it’s counter-productive, and was just wondering if there’s a way to get an actual support person to review my ticket? Has anyone had any experiences with non-automated customer service? Thanks.
Yeah you have to just keep putting in appeals until you get an actual response that isn’t blizz’s generic copy and paste.
Like…actually? They say you can re-open tickets but my 2 tickets I made are “resolved” so I can’t seem to find out how to re-open them. This just seems like spamming them and that seems like it would get a pretty negative response. Are you SURE you’re not just trolling me to be cruel? lol
I’m completely serious, that is the only way to get a response from blizz.
I eventually got a real human to respond, but it was clear they spent only a second or two reading my ticket as their response had nothing to do with my ticket… but it definitely wasn’t a canned response.
Ah, great. Well that’s disheartening because I got a permanent ban which I believe is due to the false reporting that Koreans do to foreigners (I’m an ESL teacher in Korea). So I guess I won’t be able to play on my account anymore ever. -____-
I guess I’ll just keep trying and hoping haha. But did you just keep making new tickets?
Don’t give up hope completely, my ticket was about a forum suspension (psa… anything can be “trolling” if a mod is having a bad day). In game reports may be handled differently… a lot of the one tricks got their suspensions overturned.
Yeah I think I’m getting flagged because I’m one tricking Wrecking ball (with a 65-70% winrate but Koreans don’t care) I just find it funny that the thing says I’ve been flagged for “abusive chat” but like…Korean servers are 99% Korean so they don’t understand me even if I talk in the first place? Lol
Yeah the automated ban system is easily abused, especially by groups of trolls.
Well my account is only banned until next week, but what I’m really afraid of is this repeatedly happening until they close my account, so I guess I’ll keep trying to appeal. Thanks for the info guys!
Good luck with that, even if the ban is deserved no one deserves to sit through Blizzard’s customer “support”…
There’s been quite a few times where I’ve contacted CS and gotten an actual response.
The thing is, Blizzard CS is only allowed to stick to a script to avoid making claims the company hasn’t approved. One time a CS told me that my post on the forums was “an exercise in unnecessary and unproductive” which was completely outlandish. That was my reason for my suspension that Blizzard support gave me. But that’s not a valid reason according to CoC. The suspension was overturned shortly after I sent in another ticket about it.
There’s a lot of times where the response is an actual human. Automated responses are hardly a thing when it comes to Blizzard support. The most automated thing I’ve seen is notifying you whether your account is banned or unbanned. Other than that, it may be copy paste, but it’s not a robot.
It may seem like one sometimes becasue context tends to get overlooked by Blizzard support. They’ll take “Sometimes, it’s much more fun to play the game than watch other toxic players” and they’ll assume the worst and keep your suspension.
Best thing you can do is when you send in an appeal, send as much context as you have to. Sent multiple tickets as you’re limited to 5 pictures at a time. If you absolutely need to, contact a mod through other means if you know ways.
Sometimes, or in my case over half the time, Blizzard’s suspensions/bans are completely unjustified. Best thing to do is let yourself cool down and send in a ticket 12 or so hours after receiving the ban, explain yourself, take pictures for context, etc.

I should clarify that I’m not really worried about the suspension, I’m worried about it repeatedly happening (it’s happened 2 times in the last 6 weeks, whereas my last 2 years of Overwatch I never even got a mute) and I know for a fact the most recent suspension is unjustified and the result of my Hammond one-tricking combined with my not understanding Korean. I’m just worried that it’s going to just keep happening until my account is permanently banned…

I’m not sure what’s available but I would highly recomend trying to get in touch live with customer support. Phone would be best if it’s available, though you’ll be on hold super long time I’m sure. The little web chat if Blizzard does that might work as well.
The Tickets well… I wouldn’t hold your breath. I had one issue in the past and submitted a ticket, it got closed without so much as reading the ticket. Follow up tickets got closed as well, with just the line about “upholding the punishment”. When all I had asked was what I was being punished for and how long it would last.
The problem I had was they claimed to send me an email about the ban, which I never received. Tickets to that effect seemed to think I was trying to over turn the ban and were promptly ignored.
I"m sure if you put in enough tickets you’ll just get banned/silenced. But if your account is already gone I guess there is nothing to lose…
