I’ve been playing Marvel Rivals in the place of overwatch, and while their servers are slow as heck right now, I gotta say, it’s a lot funner than overwatch at the moment. With all the stupid things the devs do and the greediness of blizzard do you guys think they may need to be worried that Overwatch will become history? They mistreat the players of ow a ton anyway, idk why we should stick with them.

If OW fails they will be moved to CoD or whatever else still makes money.

My guess is probably not. I think there’s stuff in the wings. But if you’re not having fun with OW then by all means play Rivals instead.

actually I’m curious. can you explain marvals cash shop / route to obtaining skins?
in OW because they give you 600 currency per season free essentially the BP is 4 dollars or just 2 dollars a month. You get like … 4 ‘free’ skins in the BP and if you REALLY wanna go 100% free and not spend even a dollar every other season you’re getting these free skins in the BP, and a mythic skin every other season with the BP too in the form of myth tokens.
Not to mention there is actually a decent amount of access to ‘regular currency’ skins and tokens in the bp too…
A casual completely free to play gamer can probably have a new skin for every hero on the roster in like 2 seasons.
Rivals though IDK. I don’t think you can just use currency to buy a BP so you gotta pay full price, they got shorter seasons and its like 10 bucks? I think it’s like 5x the price of OW’s BP so you actually do have to pay as well. Their ‘challlenges’ to get currency/xp or what ever they are calling it too is way more in depth than OW as well you can’t just get by on easy dailies where you complete most challenges by playing passively. you actually have to swap roles, pick specific heros, and do specific strats, and have to play till you get specific maps to do those specific things in… so it forces you to play a SHHH ton… ALSO even if you did try to play just 100% free and earn all that… how many hours would it be before you can afford a single skin? I’ve heard as many as 150 hours of play time.
Soooo… greedy? IDK… blizzard basically charges 2 dollars a month and that honestly gets you MOST of everything they offer every season aside from straight cash shop skins/collab skins and you could just pay 0 dollars and still get a BP every other season free.
Rivals? 10 bucks a month mandatory if you want access no? Wanna earn a skin for free? play 150 hours.

Best part. You earn your rank. Everyone starts at bronze 3 and you climb. Or you don’t. No games with the algorithm trying to guess your rank. You play to win, if you win you rank up. It’s really that simple.
Yes it’s adjusted from what I can tell, not only by your own performance, but that of your teams. If they’re constantly dead and you play well with little to no deaths. I’ve lost as little as 0 SR yes 0. Gains as high as 45 pointes per win.
At least that’s what it seems like when I look over my competitive history with a replay viewer already built in. A feature rich one.

I came to play a few Overwatch games this morning and, my God, it’s awful.
Played 2 games - Had role queue and somehow still had less healers than Marvel Rivals’ open queue.
Power Creep off the charts. New heros are just way too strong in every area, they have no weaknesses.
The pace of the game is just broken, a lot of the time there is a lot going on but you can’t really do a lot about it because everybody runs at 950% speed permanently and has mobility options ontop of it.
The CC - Oh my life the CC. When can you actually control your hero in this game?!
Boop - Boop - Boop - Boop - Boop - Immobilize - Boop - Boop - Slowed - Boop… It’s never ever ending. Theyw ere meant to REDUCE CC with Overwatch 2, they’ve continually added it in every patch. It’s gross.
There is no saving this. It’s a sh1tshow.

I have been playing both but might focus on OW coz I HATE hero banning system. Yeah so much for “play whoever hero you want to”
They aren’t different from Blizz.
With how intentionally broken some of the heroes are it’s kind of needed in comp. The balance will never be focused like OW.
MR I always going to have insane overpowered ability’s and ridiculous things like Jeff and squirrel girl. But that’s what makes it so fun.
Like yes, we all get mad when Jeff eats us and swims off a cliff. But you have to admit. He’s very cute and it’s just good fun.
Good I seriously hope everyone stops playing this garbage so they shut it down faster. The only new content it gets is overpriced skin scams.

I’m hoping for Howard the duck as the next goofy hero that not many people know. I would buy his skins. Make him a strategist cause that’s my main role.

So far I’ve only played Rocket, Mantis, Luna and Adam, but I’ve got a soft spot for the mischevious scamp. Is his damage any good?
Off angles, a lot of people use his clones like right in the open. Use them at off angles and mid range poke damage and alternate heals.
Strongest supports IMO right now, or strategist, mantis, Luna snow, cloak and dagger, Adam warlock can be strong.
The others are still good but not A or S tier. Cloak and dagger is disgustingly good!

Cheers. Yeah, I see QP Lokis dump his clones out in the open and I had no idea whether I was playing into his hands when I destroyed them.
I haven’t played C&D but Mantis seems like the strongest support from what (little) I can tell. She can do so much with her base kit and her ult is amazing.
Destroy everything the second they pop it! Those damn spider nests Loki clones, rockets amplifier. Treat it all like a sym turret and get it off the map. A lot of rivals players don’t know this, even higher ranked ones just leave them, they’ll still avoid daggers regen bubble not knowing what it is. Lol

They are definitely worried, they’d be stupid if they weren’t.
Imo the game needs a pretty big overhaul to stay relevant. What they’ve been doing up until now ain’t gonna cut it anymore.

Uh…are we all just pretending Rivals’s monetization isn’t even worse? OW skins are too expensive, too, but be serious. The Rivals skins are also $16-26 and you get 4 bad skins in the BP with meaningless filler otherwise.
Also, literally nobody has “mistreated” us. There’s such a cringey victim complex around here just because you have to try to do well in this game. There needs to be a minimum age verification to post on this forum.
