I’m 99% sure she was just dropped into season 6 as a requirement for support heroes, there’s no hype to her.
I’m fairly certain the marketing team saw the leaks and are now more concerned with finding the breach than hyping up Illari, we know very little things about her other than what people have inferred from her gameplay trailer.
No origin video, or gameplay video is sandwiched between other pieces of news, no ability breakdown graphics.
This might be the first hero we’re going in almost blind.
Which I guess is fitting since she’s the sun support.

Its not just you, everyone feels that way. Something feels off with blizzard lately, I hope they don’t pull a bungie and basically say they don’t want to “overdeliver”.

arent “leaks” from the OW team usually lowkey intentional though? Its a marketing tactic. If it was a leak, we’d know about heroes that are in development but not ready yet.
Something like the kiriko cinematic was probably actually a leak. Everything else has I imagine actually been intentional for marketing purposes
That leak was probably intentional since they couldn’t afford to make hero teaser/short story/breakdown etc.
You’re probably on the mark here. I think that the negative word-of-mouth from the streamers and general press information on Lifeweaver’s upcoming release may have soured the playerbase and they’re probably taking a few steps back here with Illari in order to avoid that same negativity.
Either that, or they’re just behind on press details, but I doubt that.
Anyway, come 12pm pacific daylight time, tomorrow, we’ll see lots of information on Illari; count on it.
That character is generic as hell I can see why no one cares, it has no hype because OW has no hype. I’ve been saying it for years people laughed at me, blizzard give me chinese mobile company vibe, they’re falling apart and now it’s becoming obvious.
They are shadows of their former selves rly, a bit sad if you grew up with old blizzard like me, all their games are on life support even D4, hard to believe but I think OW might get HOTS treatment if steam launch is a failure, mark my words
Lately?? This is the same company who purposely killed OW1 with a 3 year content drought to make more money off a “sequel”. When are you people going to take your rose tinted glasses off and see Blizzard for what it is?
I believe the lack of hype/details was intentional for two reasons.

People will riot about P2W before the update even launches which equates to less sales.
I’m actually shocked that there is no preorder exclusives to bribe players to buy it, which is the biggest red flag, imo, because that means the company is confident that players will buy it anyway.
She looks completely and utterly useless to be honest. The Buddha is rarely wrong. I am going against the grain here with very little information to go on, but I have more faith in my initial impressions than this community’s years of research.
