Is it a console thing?

Is marvel rivals like much better on console or something? Or with a controller? I’m gonna give it a try with that. But I’m just curious how people are going from overwatch to that like they are similar?
They really don’t feel similar especially on PC, and rivals is honestly an unoptimized mess to play on that seems to be super about very very close quarters brawling, so maybe controller is the way to go?
I dunno I just can’t seem to get into it. It’s honestly not good but kinda fun so I’d like a way for it to be more fun so I don’t have to insist to my friends to only play overwatch lol. So far the only ones that like the alternative are my console friends so I thought maybe it was that.

I like that it’s more about close quarters combat!

Yeah I’m fine with that I’m just wondering if maybe that’s also more enjoyable controller style.

I think it’s probably much better optimized on consoles. I play on XSX and it plays flawlessly.

I was thinking that may be possible. I have a top of the line pretty much everything PC, but it doesn’t matter if the code is kind of a sloppy port. But hey at least they released on all unlike so many other AAA places delaying one or the other.

I have to keep my PS5 for when gta6 doesn’t bother coming to PC for a year after release lol. Plus some games are just so much more fun on a giant TV and a console.

I was surprised that MR does not have any crouch mechanics. I guess the hit boxes are too big to tell the difference between a standing and crouching target.

Yeah I definitely don’t think it actually has very much game play in common with overwatch at all. Like it’s heroes with ability buttons but that’s really it. There are a billion games like that so to me it’s only compared because they took some of the same abilities (probably because they previously worked with them) but it doesn’t play the same at all. A big mistake on my end was listening to people talk about how it was just overwatch and to try and think about it that way but it just isn’t. It’s more a brawler that happened to be pvp.

Update. Got it on console. It’s not cross progression so I can’t have my skin and stuff. Lol people can’t actually be arguing that this game is good can they? I get it may be fun but without even basic stuff is it even a complete game?

I play OW on controller and MR feels like a controller game. I remember playing those TMNT arcade games back in the day and MR feels very similar to them.

It does not have a lot of performance issues on console. I heard they basically made the game for PS5. I have only encountered one loading problem and it did not penalize me for it even though I “left” a competitive game.

No, as a console player, the games feel completely different to me, too. Rivals is fun, but it’s fun like driving a janky tank that fires mashed potatoes, not like playing a competitive game.

Yeah I would say it’s more fun on the console. But really only something I could see myself playing with friends. It wasn’t better enough but it’s where I’ll probably play. It def was designed for it.
