I am not going to lie, the franchise leaves a sour taste in my mouth for IRL reasons that I shouldn’t randomly talk about; however, that ninja skin for Hanzo is pretty sexy. I wish it was for Genji, but I was thinking about picking up Hanzo again because I am scared of hero bans once they address the elephants in the room.
I do not even know who the character was. The image had a shuriken, so for a second I thought it was some strange “collab mythic” for Genji. But then I noticed the arrows. Ha ha…
Snake Eyes is cool too, I guess. Maybe there is a bundle with just the two of them?

Why not? Why only collab with popular things? That means everyone is doing it. So pick something less common. Also because Hasbro and Blizzard are besties.

Was GI Joe ever even a thing outside of USA? It’s just pure unabashed propaganda, right?
I grew up in a neutral country during peace time, so as kid I was actually confused why armies and soldiers still existed. Seemed like meaningless posturing.
I mean, Russia was the reason yeah, but the last war was when my grandpa was young, and they already agreed that wars are bad, so why would they start a new one?

it is from a different time and yea i was young and a kid. i was really patriotic and all about USA USA USA… even remember hulk hogan “I AM AMERICAN” theme back in the 80s
seems like thats all gone now… for better or worse. it is crazy how 50 years makes a difference in today’s world no matter what country. i think china is more nationalist than USA atm

This way they are now only playing overwatch because now they have spent thousands of dollars in skins.

Oh, yeah, the reason why they are doing it is because the Transformers collaboration popped off and people are demanded less anime collaborations. There’s not much you can do with Overwatch’s art style, so they went with the next best thing… Cartoons.
We will probably get a Masters of the Universe collaboration too with my precious Skeletor Reaper!

First collab to sell zero skins (/j i guess), but it’s not like there’s not a market to it with, like, thirty year old man. I’m disappointed, though; I don’t care for militaryslop skins and find it woefully boring. Hopefully it’s not the only collab this szn!

It’s more because they’re forcing a GI Joe crossover with the next Transformers film.
To think the Knightverse had so much potential after Bumblebee, to surpass the Bayverse perhaps.
Then Rise of the Beasts came out.
And Tranformers Two got cancelled.

I gotta say, Im kinda excited. When I was a kid, I used to play with GI Joe action figurines outside. It was a lot of fun!
I do like military games like Halo so this fits well for me. Plus Mercy’s Camo skin and Hogs & Soldier’s Military skin look siiiick.

Maybe because somebody at the Blizzard Fortress actually has some sense, and understands that crossovers aren’t about riding the coattails of what’s popular; they’re about promoting what should be! And there’s no era in which scuffed decals, spring-loaded choking hazards, and impractical vehicles rendered in liberty-green carcinogenic plastic Made in China should not be relevant!

Theyd probably get more sales with a cartoon network/adult swim collab. At least I’d be excited about that.
Samurai jack genji, those jackal archers for hanzo. Although they could be swapped for base aesthetic. Akku ram. The afro samurai guy doom or bap. Moira dexter. Powerpuff girls mercy, kiri or juno, freja.
That would go pretty hard. I might actually buy that.
Heck id take a gumby collab over GI joe haha. As others say, gi jo wasnt that big here in Australia aka not America.
Most big corporations are swinging right wing now so this doesn’t really surprise me though. If Trump didn’t get in, i wonder if this collab would even happen? Maybe it’s not related but maybe it is.
