Is elo hell cringe?

Gold, silver and bronze are such cringe places to be in and im in one of them in each role. Im in ps4.

PC I float around masters. Console, i go anywhere from Bronze - Plat. But, yes. Bronze/Silver, you either have a very competitive try hard player or someone who could care less win or lose. No in between.

I don’t believe in elo hell

The only hell is 3800-4200 and that’s because people have hyper inflated egos there

So your other 4 bounced between what heroes where over tuned at that time? Congrats.

Yes ELO hell is a real thing. If it didn’t exist, there wouldn’t be a term for it. I bet if your tanks ran Winston/Orisa or Sombra/Tracer you wouldn’t be “climbing” as support.

but climbing on support is incredibly easy to do in those ranks. anyone can do that playing a dps lucio, zen, ana, or bap.

LMAO, sure my other 4 were “carrying me” because you say so :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

ELO hell is not real, it’s just an excuse that people make up because they are struggling with climbing. My tanks and DPS played whatever they wanted
? Not sure why that’s relevant but ok.

So you’re saying that ELO hell is not real? I agree. Anyone can climb to any rank, as long as they put in the effort and grind.

and we have those inflated egos people in gold aswell as smurfs. So is more a hell for us. I never heard anyone complain because he’s master or gm.

since we always had a good debate I keep my sarcasm for myself this time, so I respectfully disagree, in gold I’m matched vs high plats and diamonds, smurfs each 2 games, leavers at least 1 on 10 (I try to do 10 games in comp daily).

and play meta or if I go sombra is lost because 90% of time even if I do 6 men emp, an hack on a rein in the middle of my team. zero follow-

but people can yell and flame me in no time ‘‘switch sombra or report’’

to me this is hell. But not because I’m ‘‘stuck’’, because I cannot literally have fun or play the hero I have fun with.

i can’t speak for low elo PS4 but im in low elo PC (specifically 1700 area) and i prefer silver over higher ranks. in plat and gold everyone took them selves so seriously that it was just cringe

I have a 500+ hour Sombra account that says otherwise. Makes no difference using comms or no comms. You will have half or more of the team not in voice chat, she’s not burst dmg, ect ect. I’ve played Sombra into Ball/Doomfist comps and still got rolled. It makes 0 difference. This game has absolutely 0 autonomy.

Unless you are a God and playing above 3-4 ranks where you place, you ain’t climbing.

Omg we are actual twins I did the same exact thing, climbed from silver to plat solo support.

Well, this is just very bad luck. My first season on PC I legit had 1-3 leavers per day, that was when I first uninstalled :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Playing Sombra in the metal ranks is not a good idea if your trying to climb, since people don’t usually follow up or join VC down here, but I do see your point.

Carrying with Sombra is pretty difficult as I mentioned before, some heros have better carry potential with others.

I was stuck in low Gold for 3 seasons since I was a Mercy one trick, and solo carrying as Mercy is extremely difficult. The next season I grinded Ana and I made it to Platinum since she has a lot of impact and carry potential.

Even if elo hell is not real, that doesn’t mean that climb is super frustrating depending on your luck. When you are in a rank way below where you should be it’s easy to climb since the difference between your skill level and the entire lobby is massive, but as you gets closer where yo should be, that gap get thinner and carry becomes harder if not impossible.
This is a fact, think about those 4400+sr players that make those “unranked to gm”, even they lose matches in gold, where everyone is pretty much a noob compare to them, now, if a top 500 can have a bad time in certain elos, imagine a “normal” player trying to carry his team.

Overall there should be a system where besides winning or losing sr if you win or lose, you gain or lose extra sr depending on your performance in that match, that way, if you had a perfect match, even if you lose because of your team, you lose half or right up 0 sr. This would be incredibly cool since it would make people play as good as they can even if the defeat is imminent.

Elo hell isn’t real. We’re all just garbage at the game :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Not really, you’re relying on your team to be decent enough to win. That doesn’t mean you’re being carried though, you can still carry as a support but its useless if your team doesn’t do anything with it.

It’s much easier climbing as a one trick Genji, Hanzo, McCree or Tracer than playing Zen or Lucio.

What? Do you understand how words and concepts work? We have thousands of words for fictitious concepts, and Elo hell is one of them.

What in the world is wrong with Tracer-Sombra pairing? Gimme a competent Tracer as my co DPS all day.

So then why are you saying ELO Hell isn’t real? You just said yourself certain characters are allowed to be tuned to climb.

I didn’t realize when I signed up for a Blizz FPS I had to treat it like a fighting game.
